It is about time that the companies start giving hefty fines to those that abuse their reputation like this.
$5000 for an intentionally broken frame seems reasonable.
Yonex is already doing this. I'm not sure how much their fines are, though. It is about time that the companies start giving hefty fines to those that abuse their reputation like this.

smashing racquets is a scummy thing to do given how many people can't affort one. but pls gtfo about this reputation bs. makes me sick when people victimize multi million dollar brands over such incidents.
The reputation is damaged, because the players themselves give the company bad name with their behaviour and because it costs them actual money to replace the broken frame.
It is not "victimization" in any shape or form.
IMO, the "many people can't afford one" is a lot more ridiculous.

brainwashed hogwash. how many people outside hardcore tennis fans even care about racquet brands? and how many of us who know and care about racquet brands are stupid enough to think smashing a racquet gives the company a bad name?
might be time to step out of your bubble and realize there's people with actual problems outside your vanilla world, being poor being one of these problems.
It is like sponsoring Tomic, only on a smaller scale, and Tomic has no sponsors for a reason.
It costs also money to replace the prematurely broken frames, so I would have guessed that would resonate with the practical side of your argument.
Also, we are on a tennis site, where the average user that is also a tennis player spents thousands of dollars/euros/pounds on tennis equipment, training, travel, access to viewership and membership fees, so it is a kind of difficult to relate to the people with less.
Certainly, disputing over a $250 frame is not the right framework for such discussion, no?

Can we summarize mannarinos racquet problems by stating that he is too superstitious to use his trusted aeropro plus in a new paintjob from Babolat? Even Nadal who is very picky uses his old aeropro with the most recent paint jobs.
What Mannarino is even more superstitious than Nadal? LOL

Whats funny is Coco Vandeweghe (who is a notorious racquet destroyer) during a post match interview earlier this year denied that there was a new rule with Yonex that you weren't allowed to break their racquets unless you want to be fined for it.Yonex is already doing this. I'm not sure how much their fines are, though.
Really? Huh.Whats funny is Coco Vandeweghe (who is a notorious racquet destroyer) during a post match interview earlier this year denied that there was a new rule with Yonex that you weren't allowed to break their racquets unless you want to be fined for it.
Wait, so it is an extended length? because i know Tsonga uses 27.5Same frame as tsonga.

gotcha thanksWhen I say same frame, I mean its the same frame, the AeroPro Drive 2011, extended length is a possibility but I think it'll be around 27.25 if so. Also Tsonga uses a moulded Wilson Handle on his Babolat Frames, you can see it in some pictures that the buttcap is a Wilson Buttcap.
Thanks! Such a better picture. Look like a Babolat logo with French flag?![]()

That shows you can play successfully on ATP circuit with only two racquets. Amazing!
When I play it's always the guy with 2 rackets and a jug of water that's going to be dishing out breadsticks.
The guy with the newest matching gear and 6 rackets is not someone you concern yourself with.
This also applies to golf if the guys in front of you have all matching gear from head to toe and they also match his bag/clubs you are going to be playing a 5 hour round.
Yonex is already doing this. I'm not sure how much their fines are, though.
Where are you getting this info from? I've never heard of anything like that.
