Advantages of Neos 1000 > Gamma x-6fc

Mine wasn't so used up that I couldn't adjust it so that it had the suggested clearance, 0.010" or whatever it is. Is it not possible to order the feet for the glide bar? Mine had "chew" marks from someone over-tightening the allen screws, so I flipped them over to have a clean surface to work with. Then I pushed down on the glide bar when doing the final snugging up to try and make it flat, then I greased the tracks and the feet, and that was the ticket. I think most any grease would work- white lithium, chassis grease, bearing grease- anything...

You don't happen to be in northern Colorado, do you?
The glide bar feet are available from Tennis Machine. I emailed with JC last year but didn't follow through. Now that I'm home I will try adjusting it again. I have a new Yonex Tour F 310 waiting to be picked up at the post office.

I'm in the Kootenays of beautiful BC, Canada.

Any luck? And we're looking at road tripping this fall, straight up the Rockies, wiggle over to Vancouver, then down the coast to the family in CA. Then back across a thousand miles of desert to get home... I drove through Canada once before, beautiful country and great people. And toonies.

Not really. I think they are just too worn really and I'm not sure if new ones would help. I looked through the parts that came with the machine and there were 2 extra sets of complete glide bars. But these ones were too tight they wouldn't budge. I spent 10 minutes trying to adjust them but no luck so I re-strung my new Yonex instead.

I will try again, and maybe mix up the pieces. I am using the bars that the clamps were attached to when I got the machine. New glide bar feet are $20/bar so that's a relatively cheap fix.

Mine were unbelievably tight as well. I had to use a long 3/8" ratchet with an allen socket to get them loose. It took a lot of force- and I turn a wrench for a living... That's why I flipped mine over once I got them apart- there were literally dents in the steel from being so tight- so I couldn't adjust them properly- they would just keep going back to where they were...

Hmmm maybe some hope for mine after all then.

Nice! I have no idea ... That's not true. They probably say no grease so that you don't inadvertently get it on the clamps.

I'm glad that helped. It made mine so much better.

Yes and these were the glide bars that were looser. I didn't try it on the tight bars. I'm happy with the way it is now. Thanks.
