advantages of poly in mains

I'm wondering what the advantages are of having a hybrid setup of poly mains and synthetic gut crosses, verses synthetic gut on both. So far I have come up with the following:

more topspin
more durable

Any others?

You are trading off power versus control, feel/playability versus durability.

Gut Mains/Poly Crosses - provides more power and the feel/playability of gut

This is my setup, and for me provides the best spin of all 4 for the SAME swing.

Poly Mains/Gut Crosses - provides more control and the durability of poly

All Poly - maximizes control and durability, and arm unfriendliness, and provides the most spin since one can swing faster, generate more spin and still keep the ball on the court

All Gut - maximizes power, feel/playability, arm friendliness, and to some extent limits spin because the faster you swing the less ability you have to keep the ball on the court.

Let's face it: poly is all about spin. If you put it in the mains you get more.

I have, surprisingly, gotten a great deal of spin out of poly mains/gut crosses, but I'm going to give the opposite a try and see if it gives me enough feel.

Poly in the mains will dampen the feel and power (as opposed to SG/gut/multi).

I like gut mains and poly crosses, myself.
