Advice on adidas shoes?

Hi. I've been using a pair of black&red Adidas Barricade for a year and a half. I've played just one or two days each week in indoor hard court, but the sole is starting to wear off (the pattern is completely "erased" at the points where I'm more aggressive when I run or change directions). I'm also starting to slip a little bit on the court. It's bearable, but it's a sign I must change my shoes. Finally, I've started getting some very mild knee-pain at the end of my sessions, and I wonder if this has something to do with the shoes I'm using.

So, since there's no more Barricade, I'm searching for a good new tennis shoes. I've started looking at Adidas, since their shoes fit me well (I had some Nike shoes long time ago and they were really uncomfortable for my feet. Since then, I've always used Adidas/Asics shoes for my sports practice).

Now, just looking at Adidas, I'm pretty lost with all the different kind of shoe lines there are, so I'm in need of some clarification. I've seen GameCourt, SoleCourt, Adizero Ubersonic, SoleMatch Bounce, SoleCourt Boost, Defiant Bounce, CourtJam Bounce, Adizero Club... etc.

  1. Can someone explain me what are the differences between these models?
  2. I'm searching for some cushioned tennis shoes since I exclusively play in hard courts. I don't mind if they're sturdy like Barricades or light like running shoes. I like both styles.
  3. Design wise, I like the blue defiant bounce 2 and the white adizero ubersonic 3. Among these two, which one is better?
  4. Which other non-adidas shoes would you recommend me?
Thank you!

1. Read the respective threads. There is a lot of info on the separate models. Writing about all of them is a massive job.
2. The most cushioned of those are the SCBs, but they wouldn't be suitable for your foot, if the Barricades are a good fit for you. I would recommend trying out the Übersonic 2 from the current Adidas range
3. Ü3 is clearly better in every aspect, not only design wise
4. Aiscs GR7, FF2, Babolat SFX, Yonex PC Eclipsion 2

Thank you very much for your fast answer.

TW has a video up on their YouTube channel going over the different lines of Adidas shoes, I think. Give it a shot, I thought it was super informative!

EDIT: Here it is

I didn’t know about this video. It’s informative and has solved most of my doubts on the different Adidas models. I’ll watch it again, since I mix the names of the different models, but it will help me making a decision. Thank you very much!!

As a long time barricade (boost) user, I thought I would like the solecourt boost the best. But I have found that I like the fit and feel of the ubersonic 3's much better. fyi

I liked the ubersonic 3s a lot, but they just don't have the same ankle support I liked with the Barricades.

Well, I played yesterday in the morning with my old barricades, and due to the wearing of the outside sole I slipped and mildly hurt my toe. I decided it was enough and just when I ended the match I headed to the local store to buy whatever they had. I got a pair of Court Jam bounce that I will use today. They just had these and some starter ones, but I won’t wait to buy over the internet at the risk of hurting myself while I wait.

Thanks everyone for your advice.
