The Dunlop Aerogel 4D 300 Tour and the Head Youtek Speed MP 18x20 are at the top of my list of sticks to demo. Anyone who has hit with both sticks, please compare and contrast.

I own the 300T and I haven't hit with the Youtek Speed MP, but they are very different racquets, especially on weight and SW.

The swing weights of 318 for the Dunlop and 317 for the Head actually seem very close.
How do you like your 300 Tours?

Man I love them.

It wasn't love at first sight, but when I managed to get used to them, I realized they fit perfectly my game style.

They are very solid and stable, and perform just like heavier racquets without being heavy. It offers great control, but they are not easy racquets. You have to pu a considerable amount of effort when swinging them, but you're definitely rewarded for that.

I haven't had many problems with spin access, despite it's a 18x20 racquet.

I added 4g to the handle to make it a bit more maneuverable, and it worked pretty well for me.

Serving and groundstrokes with this racquet is great. As I said before, it performs as a heavier racquet without being heavier, so if you have problems playing with 320g+ racquets, then it's definetly for you.

Try both, I bet you won't regret playing with them two.

Thanks for the info. I used to play with the hotmelt 300 for several years, and enjoyed it alot. Currently I am playing with the Head Microgel Radical Midplus, but I have it weighted with lead to just about the same weight as the 300 Tour. The TW review of the 300 Tour gave it a rave review, as have you, so it is definitely at the top of my list to demo. The only criticism I have heard is that it can get pushed around a bit by heavy hitters. Have you encountered this problem?

It does better than most 11-11.5 ounce rackets when up against pace, but it can get pushed around a bit. As long as I swing "through" the pace though, it is fine.

dadozen, have you played with the AG 200 18x20 (not 4D) before the 300 Tour? I don't mean to hijack the thread, just looking for a quick opinion.

I have played with (and own) both sticks

it depends on your game, height, strokes, etc... to truly determine my perception of the sticks versus yours. Feel free to ask specific questions and I will gladly provide feedback.

My info (to see if it is anywhere close to you)

I'm a 4.5 player
5' 9"
170
Serve and Volley half the time (based on opponent)
Semi western forehand (driving or looping groundies)
One handed back hand (strong top or slice)
Very dependent on my touch and angles from everywhere
Flat serves creep into low 120's
Most serves at 90 to 115 mph
Need to be able to flatten shots out as well

Yeah, most common complaint about this racquet is getting pushed by heavy hitters. To be honest, as honz said, it does a better job than most racquets at the same weight level, and sometimes even than racquets above the weight level.

But, of curse, it won't play like a 350g+ racquet.

For me, who can't handle a racquet that heavy, is a great choice.

Sorry Hidious, but I haven't.

I do want to try the AG 4D 200 16x19 though.

Other sticks I want to try are: PDR GT, Ytlk Speed MP 18x20 and Prince Ozone Tour.

I have been using this racquet the 4D 300 tour since it first came out and the stick is amazing. The racquet is very stable and has very nice feel and touch. I have a 1hbh, and if you can time the ball well this stick it will not get pushed around at all. Even with the 18x20 pattern I can still get good topspin off both wings. I used the K95 before and the racquet is leaps and bounds better. One of the best serving sticks I have ever had. But, unlike dadozen, I fell in love with this racquet with the first hit.

the Speed MP 18x20 is really excellent, it has a nice crisp feel, but isn't overpowered in the least. It's really a players stick but it has a little extra juice to help out on tough shots. I liked the feel outside the sweet spot, and I like dense string patterns. The 4D 300 tour is a good stick, but is pretty underpowered, with the low flex, dense string pattern and decently thin beam. If you're willing to swing out to hell, get the dunlop, but if you don't want to work yourself to death, I'd really really recommend the Head Speed MP.
