did this racket would exist in 2013, or the aerostorm gt was the last one?
i love this racket anyone got answers
Feel free to share if you know something that we don't. I'd assume they wouldn't discontinue the model because it's really starting to take off.
I love the Aero storm!!!! played with it for 5 minutes and got 2 aces in a critical doubles match for my hs tennis team (I smashed my rebels that day... -_- )
Purely aesthetically speaking, go back to red instead of yellow.
I agree. Go back to red or use orange. As of now it has no identity. Tongsa should or another should probably be using a paint job of it.
Except that, given their druthers, they'd just as soon kill off the entire Storm line: Aero, Regular, Tours and Ltd. None are their money makers, and hearken back to the old style of tennis. If only Harrison weren't so keen on one of them.
Oh, and some retired dinosaur...Pete something...
Aero Storms and Storm tours are discontinued
The only Aero's that will be produced this year are the New Aeropro drives. The Storm, Storm Tour, etc of the aero's will not be carried forward.. Sad as these were excellent hybrid frames our tour specs and technology..
so whith which racket aerostorm's player should play now for babolat?
So I guess Harrison gets a Storm Ltd with a PJ for either the APDGT or PD? Assuming he remains on the roster. Ditto for Stosur?
Gonzo's retired, so he's not an issue any longer, but was using the old Pure Control, PJ'ed as necessary, IIRC.
Is Ginepri still around? What's he ( purported to be ) hitting?
Don't know what---if anything---they're still doing with that old Pete guy.
I think the reference was to the aerostorms not storms.
It was referring to Aerostorms, but if they're killing off the entire Storm line, then my query is still valid.
The aerostorms are an aero line and not a storm line, and there's been no suggestion that anythings happening to the storm line, not even a repaint in 2013.
That's why the aerostorms are yellow and included in the aero section of the tw page.
They are aero racquets, even if theyre hybrids strictly speaking.
Cheese and crust, shouldn't you be obsessing over the on-going financial, legal, and licensing issues of Volkl / BB?
so, you were mistaken, get over it.
They're going to keep the Aero storm/and tour around for a year or so and then "phase it out" according to a rep. They will keep it around for the year to allow users to stock up as well as their pros and teaching pros. Just saw the new line today pretty cool.
Will there be a 2013 version of the AeroStorm with the active cortex or are they simply going to keep the existing AeroStorm GT around for another year or so? Thanks.
From what I gathered there will be no update and they will keep it around for another year or so. This is based on a conversation with a rep so it might not be the most reliable but he had the new aero line with him so I believed him.
Yeah, the Babolat rep was at my club yesterday w/ the new Aero line. I asked him "what, no Aero Storm?". He said, "nope, they're phasing it out".
I also mentioned to him that they need to bring back the 'Pure Control Swirly'. He smiled & said 'wait until 2014'. Not sure what that meant, but if they re-tool the Storm line I may give it glance next year.
Not to offend anyone or judge the rep you speak of since I don't know him but... all the reps I've met and talked to in the past were always full of bull when it came to the new offerings.
Everytime the new frame was supposed to be better than it's predecessor.
When asked about some old school models I've mostly heard: Just you wait for XYZ, it's gonna be even better.
Of course you can't expect a guy who's making a living out of the product speak other than highly of it.
Yeah, I agree. Most are on the same level as Used Car salesman, and I've never met this guy before, so I don't know his reputation. He was just sitting in the viewing area w/ his frames on the table getting ready to leave when I spoke with him, so I thought I'd pass it on.
Thanks for the info!
