AeroStorm 2016 stars and stripes

Really hope they do come out with Aero Storms again! I have been nursing mine along far too long (have worn the frames away). Finally had to buy an Aero Pro, but it's just too stiff and lacks feel. While they have probably already come up with the new racquet without even asking me, I would like to see Babolat come out with something similar to the older 2008 version. The final yellow GT version was heavier and stiffer. Basically this was what nobody wanted and it killed the lineup. Here's how to make it the perfect racquet: Get flex back to 65 RDA and weight back to 300g; reduce cross strings from 20 to 19 for a 16x19 bed with an open string spacing for a little extra spin and power; keep head at 98 inches, but give hoop a more rounded, less boxy, more aerodynamic shape. THE PERFECT RACQUET!!! Please pay attention @Babolat

I'm in although, I'd like it a little heavier, like 310.

Nah, it's better for us who need more even balanced rackets

Then we don't have to murder the static weight to get a desired balance.

Gives everyone more wiggle room, heavy stock rackets are just a huge pain in the ***

I'm most excited to be able to get a high swing weight without having to add a ton of lead

My current racket is a head radical graphene that is 345g strung and 367 sw 33in balance

I just want that balance and with the vs I'll be able to get it with a much lower static weight

I wish that they would just release it with a few updates and not change so much. I am still using my Aero Storm Tour Cortex. I love the weight and stiffness, but it also has some crazy spin coming off the stick. I have tried to find something new over the years and just haven't found anything with the right specs that plays similar.

So glad that they're bringing it back, but just really hope it's an update and not a whole change over...

time to string it up!

These just arrived at my local shop...love the paint job. Does anyone know if the stars and stripes are a limited release? Just switched to the Yonex Duel G 330 but tempted to get a couple of these just for the graphics. #murica

Yea Stars is limited.

Yellow aero cosmetic to be released in September or October.

Just FYI, my racket measured 317g with the plastic and racket card. Taking those off, 296.5g with a balance of 32.0-.1cm
So a 317g would probably be as close to listed spec as you will get. Some other rackets were measured at 320 and 323g.

I called my local bab dealer to see if the VS can't in yet..... ugh..... he never ordered the racquets for me.

it stresses a man out. I always wanted an aero storm. and my god i love america but the 240 price tag breaks my heart

The price will probably drop when the regular pj is released. If they keep the VS at the same price after that than they'll be dropping it shortly thereafter just like Wilson did with the Ultra and FST lines.

Was just looking at the pics on the TW site . On the side of the hoop, it says "GT Technology.". Really???? Babolat just settled their lawsuit because if the lack of Tungsten in the frames. How could they really put the GT label back on these frames?

I'm still using my Aerostorm Tour Cortex(the red one). Best stick I've ever hit with. Other than this one being lighter, how does it compare? Are they planning for a tour model? Otherwise I could always weight it up...

If the VS sells well than I imagine that a tour version will be released in the future.

I'd definitely buy it then.

Hard to quantify , but I like the feel of the new VS better. Very comfortable , and a little more feed back than the original in my opinion .

only nervous that these paint jobs will sell out when the regular paint jobs come out

It's better to have a light release than a heavy one

I personally love that it's 295 grams, I can lead it up to my spec. If it was 320+ I could still lead it up, but I wouldn't have as great a range.

Tour models and heavy models are really pointless to us who like closer to even balance, since most have 8-11pt Hl balance.

@Babolat Official why does the new Pure Aero VS does not have Cortex but Jack Sock's racquets do have Cortex?

Both Jack's racket and the Pure Aero VS have cortex. We used the plastic piece on the outside as a communication tool to signify the existence of the cortex in the throat of the frame.

The new Pure Aero VS (and Pure Aero) removed the outer plastic piece, but retained cortex. That's why it now says Cortex Inside. This signifies that it's still present, just communicated on more subtly via text vs an outer plastic piece.

Jack is pretty superstitious and preferred to have his frame with the plastic outer piece.

There is a Tour model on it's way. I can't say the release date yet, but it will be in the same cosmetic as the regular, non- Stars & Stripes Pure Aero VS.

Yes, expect a Tour version in the near future.

Why.....that's the most beautiful thing I've ever seen!!!!

Why can't they make this the Tour version though or the Pure Control Tour in this PJ? Grr

Damn, me being a stupid american, I kinda like the flag PJ. I've never played with a leaded up racket. Would you be able to give me the specs of the VS Tour and or where to add the lead to get it to the same specs?

@Babolat Official how long will the stars and stripes be avaible for ?

The Stars & Stripes is a limited edition racket. Once it's gone, it's gone...

Ha sorry for the frustration. The nice thing is you can customize to the specs you see fit, since it's lighter. We recommend that all of our players customize as they see fit to get the most from their games.

The tour is 72 RA, 320 grams, & 310 mm balance.

My stars n stripes bag was back ordered from Babolat . Will they fill the order? If so, what kind of time frame am I looking at?

Anyone else hit with this frame yet? Just strung mine up with cyclone 17 @54/52 -- strung with an overgrip and dampener, it came it at 322g...i might add a leather grip eventually, but so far it's seems ok in stock form (my regular racquets are the Yonex ai100 with a leather grip and the xi98)...

First impressions today were very good! It has a crisp "controlled power" feel - power level might be slightly above a DR98 / AI98..but lower than a Pure Drive / Aeropro type frame...the hoop is solid with a subtle flex for added feel...the frame plays much heavier than the static weight indicates...which is a nice surprise...just feels more solid than the older aerostorm...it feels like, the way i wanted the pure strikes to feel...more "babolat-like" - aka, a little more crisp...so far, so good...

Oh no, I think I'm about to enter racquetholic territory...

I played with mine today. It has Babalot gut in mains and TB in crosses at 58lbs. I absolutely loved how it played. Very controllable power, at least for me. There was no adjustment time period either that I've experienced trying to get used to a new racquet. I would encourage someone to demo one if they are curious. Not to mention everyone loves the PJ that saw it.

When I see that PJ in your photo, this frame will from now on not be called Pure Aero VS for me, the new name is Pure Love VS! Absolutely love this PJ!!
