hello,

i'm a 5.0 level player i've difficult to choice between aerostorm vs aerostorm tour

which one is better ?
please help me to choice

What do you play with now? What's your playing style? What is it with your current racket/game that you don't like or would like to improve.

In general, higher level players seem to often use heavier rackets, so probably the tour...

i've a big forehand, a one handed backhand(i use both slice and spin), a good serve.
i'm a baseliner i don't come often to the net.
I used PS95 but she is underpower, and i don't hit a heavy ball with it.
i like a racket who bring a heavy ball(plowthrought), and control

Sounds like you should get the AeroStorm Tour. I've tried them both and used the AST for a few months until I switched. The extra weight makes a difference, and I prefer a racquet that's the correct weight in the first place instead of having to add a bunch of weight to it. It actually doesn't feel that heavy.

ok what are the benefits of the extraweight?

Extra weight helps with plowthrough and stability. The weakness of the AeroStorm compared to other Babolat racquets is that it's weak on off-center hits, and I think the extra stability of the Tour version helps with that. If a racquet is too heavy it could affect your timing and your topspin. I didn't notice that at all with Tour. I tried other racquets that were too heavy (ex. Pro Kennex Ki 5 PSE was over 13 ounces). For me, the AeroStorm Tour could actually use a little more weight and it still wouldn't be too heavy.

ok thank you, so i ll get aerostorm tour you think
which string did you used on it?

Any type of string works well with the AST. I'm a multifilament user right now because poly hurts my elbow, but if your elbow can take it, full poly and poly/multi hybrids will give you a lot of spin and control on the AST and you'll be able to swing freely with a lot of confidence. The frame also works well with multifilaments because it's not too powerful. I primarily used poly/multi on the AST but found out that my arm couldn't take it.

last question the aerostorm Is not it tiring after several matches or in the third set?

I'm a 4.5 player in decent shape and I workout regularly with weights. The weight of the AST was not a factor at all for me in long matches. If you're a 5.0 male player, chances are the weight won't be a factor for you either.

tried both the aero storm and the aero storm tour...ended up using the aerostorm tour for a while.

i feel the weight between the two rackets makes a huge difference. the aerostorm just wasnt stable enough or had enough heft to return heavy balls or generate one. the aerostorm tour on the other hand was great. regret switching from them, but...it's too late now.

i strung full poly at 58. It didnt feel stiff at all surprisingly, and it was stable enough for me without the use of lead.

ok thanks everybody say the same thing, i must go to the ASGTT!
why didn't you play with this racket now?

I tried both man and trust aero storm tour gt. It's has it all I regret switching. I used the aero storm but it was sorta light.... Wished I added a leather and lead at the 12 but would waste extra money haha

Trust aero storm tour won't regret and string it looser since it is a tiny stiffer than the aero storm.

i had too many rackets to justify my little playing time.
decided to go with my pc600s because they were the rackets i wanted to play with for a while even when i was younger.
ended up selling those too -__-

now going to PD2012s

Different Take: I suggest that you buy the ASGT and dump the Tour version. The tour is way too stiff, too depolarize and swings like a log. If you take the ASGT and put a leather grip on it then put about 8gms of lead at the 10/2 positions... you will have a very stable frame with tremendous plow that swings much faster. If you weight up the ASGT properly, you will end up with a very stable, depolarized frame with about the same static weight of the tour.

I had both and try many different setups.
The only reason that the ASGT did not become my main stick was because the frame was a little too stiff... if that is not a problem, the beefed up ASGT is one the very best out there.

ok thanks, put a leather grip but i'm not a fan of putting lead!!
maybe pure storm tour could be a good alternative?
very difficult to choice the good racket
and i don't understand what does mean depolarized

and i read the tennis warehouse review the best review is for the aerostorm tour, that's why i'm a little lost

The pure storm tour to be honest is the the most comfy flexible racket out of babolat. I had both to be honest same weight and swing weight and the oure storm tour had a mushy feel and I had no stability or stiff issues but its really low powered compared to a pure drive roddick . To be honest I'm.in the same boat for looking for a racket since my friend is sponsored by babolat and lettimg me try all bab frames. I'm deciding a pure storm tour, aero pro drive customized, or the plus version of the aero pro drive

have you try ASTGT

Yes I have and used is for a good year and did really well had to add lead at the 12 since it felt light on my hand but the only issue I had was stifnees but I tension it in the 40's and felt perfect but again I'm on the demo hunt.
I'm deciding on the astgt again, apd gt plus, pure strom tour and ltd, qnd the roddick. I'm getting hooked up which ever I choose since a few buds I know and some just met are sponsored by babolat

Well it's got a great review, but what's the difference between a score of 82 or 85? Read the words in the reviews and put the scores aside for a while.

Also, compare your own style of play to the style of each specific playtester in the review to know who's opinion should be most relevant to you. You'll often get a hint about this during the chatting part of the video review. Also, you can read a little about each of them and watch them hit some shots.

And finally: remember that the playtesters are employed by TW, and so they are very unlikely to highlight flaws in rackets but rather tell what's good and kind of only mention the bad stuff real quickly - and often by saying something like: for my playing style, i find this racket to be...............

I switched the AST for about two weeks. Frame tends to twist in your hand. Maybe I dont hold a western enough grip. Then it started to bother my elbow, end of story.

I have not played with AS but AST was my main stick for some 6 months. I stung it with full multi, fear of stiffness. And the end of my leagues, I tried Donnay Gold99 and moved to it. Gold is a game improvement racquet, it improved my game and swing. I got a nice loopy FH with nice topspin. But the only problem with Gold was I could not hit wide angles pushing my opponent out of court, no matter how much I tried.
Yesterday I strung my AST with copoly (BH Blue Rough) and it played well. The stiffness felt the same but no viberation as such. All those angles that I missed with thin Gold came back, Also I now started looping the FH same way as I did with Gold. So AST played to me better than Gold.
Nothing can match the stability of AST at net, it is the easiest volleying racquet i have played with.
