After a tiebreak, which side do you start back on?

Ok, I've heard every possible answer, but here's my question.

First set tiebreak: Adam, on side A, starts and serves 1 to Brian who is on side B, then they alternate 2 serves, switching sides at 6 total points and multiples of 6.

Adam wins tiebreak 7-5, where does he start second set?

Adam wins tiebreak 7-4, where does he start second set?

Adam wins tiebreak 8-6, where does he start second set?

Does it matter what dies you finish on or start on? thanks!

after a tiebreak ends, you then switch sides. no matter what the score of the tiebreak( because its a 7-6 set or odd games 13), you switch sides to start the first game of the next set, or the first point of a 3rd set super breaker.

simple as pie

Whoever served the first point of the tiebreaker will be returning the first game of the next set or first pt of a 3rd set super breaker (match tie-break first to 10)

Do you switch sides from where the tiebreak ended or where it started?

from where it ends you switch sides.

Its just like if you win a set with any odd game score ( 6-1 , 6-3 & 7-6) you switch from where you ended the set on the last point.

Gut4Tennis is correct. Your answers are:

A
A
B

Absolutely correct!

I don't know why people complicate it because, as Gut4Tennis points out, it is very simple.

Switch sides from where you ended, The person that served to start now receives.

The easiest way I try and explain it to people is that the rules are that way because people would have trouble remembering which side they started the tiebreak on so you switch from where you finish.

Side part is clear.

But I thought who starts the new set is also depends on who finished the tiebreak, so person last served will receive to start the new set.

That would be incorrect.

It really is pretty simple:

1) You switch sides at the end of the tie-break. Like others said, you switch after odd games are complete, so you switch sides from where you were at the end of the tie-break.

2) Whoever receives to start the tie-break will start serving to start the next set. Basically, think of the tie-break "game" as being served by the player/team to start the tie-break, so the following game is served by the other team. Or, think of it that any time a set has an odd number of games, the next set is started by the opposite team that started the prior set.

why do you ask this question when we answered it already??

whoever serves the FIRST pt of a tiebreak is NOT serving first to start the next set

or

whoever returned serve the FIRST pt of a tiebreak IS serving first to start the next set.

ZERO is dependent on who served or returned on the last pt of a tiebreak.

All is dependent on who served or returned on the first pt of a tiebreak

Gut is correct. Though I am an official, I don't need to look at the rulebook to agree. Any decent official better know this, and almost all experienced players will know this.

What about doubles? You switch sides and the team who received first point of tiebreak can have either member serve? Got it!
The switch still applies. In doubles, at the beginning of the set you can choose to change sides (deuce / ad) and service order with your partner (you choose who serves first)
