Yes...again the winner is Miss Justine Henin Hardenne!!!
I think I lost my time watching the WTA tournament in Stuttgart because I knew beforehand that the winner would be Justine...
I find that between her and the rest of the girls there is an enormous difference in experience and in ´´being in the court´´ attitude,as if Justine would belong to a superior category as the rest in which she has no oponents... she is alone there...and WTA cannot organize tournaments just for her...
The other players have just sparks of genius for some days...and thats all!!!
She is pure genius... as if she were a flawless diamond.
Therefore I am getting a bit tired of watching always the same player lifting trophies and engrossing her bank account...
What can the WTA do to ensure a variety of winners on the Championship?

Please note....her name is Justine Hennin....she is divorced and no longer uses Hardenne...from what I understand he wasn't a very nice man...

I tried to watch that match but got tired in 5 minutes. That´s not tennis for TV. They make dozens of unforced errors, they are slow, what a hell, i know they kick my ass, but i dont play on tv or make tennis a living. Women tennis, i m afraid to say, sucks a little bit.

Justine showed a lot of poise and maturity especially when things were not going her way on the first set; she got nailed by Tatiana's strong serve and forehand (inside out). Instead of curling back, Justine started the second set aggressively - moving to the net, driving the ball side to side not giving Tatiana the chance to use her inside out shots. Then Justine's back hand started clicking, her confidence grew and so as her serve.
Justine was really impressive! I think it was a very well played finals; very entertaining compared to the other WTA matches I saw.

Why, are you going to play there in the near future??

I used to enjoy WTA quite a bit, but I'm out of luck. At the moment I live in Australia and there is not much of it to be seen on TV, also not ATP.
I wish they had a tennis channel everywhere in the world!!

This thread is ********. Yes Justine has had a great year but so dominant she is ruining the WTA, what a joke. Justine still has never won 3 majors in the same year, this year she won 2 of the 4 played (she didnt play 1 of course) which ties her career best. She lost in the semis of Wimbledon to a little known player. Serena Williams was much more dominant then this in 2002, was it ruining the game. This thread should be deleted.

Why do you believe men play tennis better than women?
Federer does not make unforced errors?
I've seen really boring matches from the ATP also...

Yes I am completely serious,there are matches by Carlos Moya,Tim Henman and David Nalbandian (former number three of the world) in which I slept in front of the tv for more or less half of their matches....

I think the comment that tennis is quite poor these days has nothing to do with who likes who. Also I'm honored to be on your ignore list. I must be doing SOMETHING right. :p

I always root for the underdog.. I just like to see different people win. I mean props to Federer and Henin for always winning, Lord knows I wouldn't be complaining if it were me.

I see nothing wrong with Henin dominating the way she has been over the past year, all the other players need to step up and let their rackets do the talking

We are very happy for Justine's success on the WTA. A tiny powerhouse on the court. Small packages , big wonders, just like like Ty Ana Williams; until you are against these pint size super people, you don't think much of their presence, but when the ball is struck, you start to pay total attention, and then its over. They win!

This isn't the same on the ATP, Rochus, Olivier can't stand up to Andy Roddick's monster shots. So we currently feel great about all of Miss Henin's success on the tour today against the big ladies out there; but unlike Justine, Ty Ana Williams still has a lot of growing to do!!!!:p

Go Justine!;)

Ah, finally...a post worth something. Now, if we could just take all the majors, and the super nines, and double the draw, we wouldn't have to have separate men's and women's draws, would we?

What? You say that would be unfair to women? Justine wouldn't finish in the top 80 in the world, so why suspect that men play better tennis than women?

Sorry...this is a bit contentious, but women DON'T PLAY THE SAME GAME that men play, period. Ever wonder why the top women use men as hitting partners in practice?

WTA sucks but not because of Henin. Actually shes the only one I care to watch. WTA is full of Sharapova clones, they all have the same forehands and backhands, all the same routines in the courts(that stupid bouncing and turning the back to your opponent) etc etc Im really tired of watching wta. And IM PISSED because eurosport only broadcasts SE-tour. 3 or 4 atp events during the year?! Talk about equality between man and woman :)

When I saw that Golovin had taken the first set, I KNEW she would just disappear after that. The women can't handle the thought of an upset, so they just crumble away after winning that first set.

Perhaps, but more likely she was playing at a level unrealistic for her to substain in the first set. If she were really that good she wouldnt be where she currently is in the game. Henin also became more agressive in response to Golovin's agression.

ATP or WTA - I have seen great matches on both sides with all kinds of players involved. Credit to them all, but there is never a guarantee that a tennis match will be exciting. And how could there be one?

I really like Justine, think she's had a damn hard life and wish her every success, but what's this about her level of domination.

Yes she's the dominant force in women's tennis at the moment, but in the scheme of things she's just not that dominant.

She's won 7 majors over the last 5 years and while that's a great achievement, it hardly qualifies as a reason to make the ladies game boring.

What would you all have said had we been posting at the height of Martina's dominance, or Steffi, or Monica, or Connolly or Margaret Court.

Justine has won 7 out of the last 19 majors. Margaret did that in a timescale of 8 majors. Navratilova and Seles in 9.

C'mon give Justine a break.

let the haters think what they want to think, the thing is, ms. henin is wheezing by the streets in her brand new porsche (hopefully, she didnt chose the yellow model). ALLEZ. :D

Thank you for having set the line of inheritance of the number one of the world players.The players you mentioned were also alone at the top with no oponents...the other players were just as a pack of wolves trying to snatch from them some tournament but they didnt know to jump high enough to do so so people got bored of seeing always the same player lifting the trophies and earning all the money...I call this the number one syndrome and it ruins in this case the credibility of the WTA...AND PEOPLE ARE ESCAPING THE MATCHES BY MEANS OF ZAPPING...

I am not a hater...I only analyzed the fact that Justine is too lonely at the top and people are tired of watching her winning all the trophies and earning all the money because the difference in her tennis and the other girls´s tennis is monstrous...she is alone in the top ... nevertheless I think that Golovins outfit matched better with the colour of the car...

Because that ruins the credibility of tennis...all my friends who watched tennis matches with me are deserting me because they see that always is the same player who wins...and the other ones have no chance because in this case their level is too low to beat the number one...
Federer is also ruining the credibility of tennis...
