Agassi prototype racquet from 1998

They are great pix!!!! I think Agassi used that prince racquet when he was a junior, and was possiblely toying around with going back to it to get back to his foundation.

1998 was a building year for Agassi and it doesn't suprise me that he was tinkering around with technology to get his game back.

Agassi used the POG OS during his early years as a pro. I know in his book, "Open," he discusses painting a POG to look like a Donnay and got in some trouble with Donnay reps. Maybe, like Agassi-Fan said, he was going back to his roots in an effort to rebuild.

He did the same thing when he went to HEAD which is why they made a retail racket with the cross brace, the HEAT.

If you ask me, I would speculate it was a POG painted black with a Head stencil or Head actually simply made him some POG clones because he wanted to tinker with an old familar frame. I remember the POG OS was the racquet he stormed the tour with in 1988 when he won the most tournaments of any guy on the tour that year and got to the semis of the French and US Open.

In Wimbledon 1998 Agassi played his first match with a prototype of the later in 1998 coming TI.Fire. But during his match with Tommy Haas he was back to his radical.
