Who do you player rates higher in history at this exact moment. Nadal or Agassi? Nadal has the edge of 1 more slam, 1 more Masters title, 1 more year end #1, 3 slams in the same year, 2 multi slam years, winning 2 slams on each surface, winning H2H vs his main rival unlike Agassi, greater dominance, and greater consistency. Agassi has the edge of greater longevity, many more tournament wins, a WTF title, more slam finals and semis, winning on all surfaces in the days of more polarized conditions. I am not sure which spent more time at #1 in weeks at this point. So which ranks higher in history right now.

I went with Nadal but I think Agassi is very underrated on this forum.

Well, all Nadal has done so far was surpass Agassi by light years in tennis accomplishments. Nadal hasn’t flooded tabloids as a pathetic bald methhead who married an unconvicted felon to run criminal enterprises under a phony disguise of charity, so it’s a tough call.

This isnt even an issue. Nadal is still a few years away from retiring and already achieved more than Agassi.

Nadal owns winning record against his peers considered to be great players (eg: Roger Federer, Lleton Hewitt) and ofcourse mentally stronger than Agassi.

Only area Agassi has an edge is when it comes to Babes. Obviously Agassi achieved more!!!

Agassi was so fun to watch (hard time voting against him against almost any player) In terms of overall versatility, guts, precision, power... he had it all, a star. He made the game look easy and fought the good fight for many years.

Nadal is also accomplished and freackishly good in most all areas as well... he just doesn't make it look as smooth for me (he does grind, kick, punch, everything it takes to win against anyone... as good as anyone who ever played)

I just personally enjoyed watching Agassi more :)

Nadal. But got to admire the time spread of slams for Agassi, plus falling out of significant ranking, only to climb back in.

Because of the bolded underlined reasons

Nadal.:)

This question was asked in the summer before Nadal even won the US Open, and the majority already voted for Nadal. Now it's even more heavily in Nadal's favor.

In history Agassi.

In tennis history, Nadal.

Agassi is a legend in pop culture more than just on the court.

Nadal, easily. He's won so many more big events, and he's only 24. He's got so much more to go, and he's set so many records already.

Go Rafa!!

And Rafa has more slams, and more Masters series, and most importantly, he's still playing :)

I don’t like to compare achievements by the age, but rather by their career. Becker and Chang won a slam at 17 and they are way ahead of the present and past greats. One can say at 17 their career are on pace to 20 slams each. To expect the future outcome for rafa is pointless b/c we don’t know how it will turn out. Who knows, maybe he will never win the WTF.

I'm not comparing achievements by age, my point is Rafa is already ahead of Agassi and he can still add to his tally, Agassi cannot. Becker cannot. Chang cannot.

It wont mean anything in a comparision to Agassi. As you can see nearly everyone already considers Nadal above Agassi even without the WTF. I made this poll now as it is the last time I can even make it with any seriousness. As Nadal continues to add slams (and even the biggest haters know he will) it will only become impossible to even begin to compare Nadal to Agassi, even if Nadal never wins the WTF.

OP: Nadal without question. Additionally, Nadal did not waste the first half of his career like Agassi, so he's in a position to add a good number of majors to his strong record while in his competitive prime--in other words, he will not be in a fight with age as well as the field as in Agassi's case.

...here we go! Joe Pike should be here soon!

I'd have to go with Agassi. He has more versatility and can play well on all surfaces.

How do you define "versatility" ?? In what world is Agassi more versatile than Nadal ??

By the way...the answer to this poll is "Nadal". And by the time he's done, it's not going to be close either.

Yeah, as much as I respect Agassi's game & career; it's Nadal & the gap will only widen. Not even that close now.

At least, start some new threads to keep us interested. And why bother starting a new thread when there is a thread that you began many years ago under a different name, and which was still active less than a month ago?

Thread started by anointedone: Nadal to surpass career greatness of Agassi.

This troll is so obvious that it is getting boring.
