Alberto Berasategui's grip?

Legend
He had an extreme grip, and played the forehand with the back or backhand side of the racket head. He could accelerate the forehand very much. Another player player, who had such a grip was the Japanese player Zenzo Shimizu, who played in the Davis Cup final in the 1920s and was ranked Nr. 4 in 1921. The old Aussie champion Norman Brookes hit the backhand with his forehand side of the racket.

It's the extreme western or Hawaiian grip. That's why he hit his forehand and backhand with the same side of the racquet.
What I don't understand is how do these players with extreme grips deal with low balls? I would think you could just slice these types of players to death and it would totally neutralize their game.

Some older guys at my club told me I remind them of this guy the other day... western grip.

Reverse follow through and slice. I have no issue with slice, but flat and low balls are difficult.
