I definitely became a fan of his last night. Those nice, aggressive groundies combined with the footwork definitely sold me. And the fact that he’s doing this at 18 is quite impressive.

I really do hope he actually uses this already rock-solid foundation to make improvements over the next few years to be a dominant force in the game. I feel like I’ve been let down way too much by such players lately.

- He can't play every match with this kind of aggressiveness, it's just non-sustainable. This was kinda Wawa blowing ball hard, and even Wawa showed up occasionally... Rosol Wimbledon is another example...

Got to see Alcaraz up close in Cincinnati and the kid is an absolute physical beast! You may be right that he can't red-line like this every match, but he's a different class of athlete than Stan and Rosol. He also sees the ball really early and his prep is outstanding.

The only thing I saw that was missing was the winner's swagger and confidence. Way too much looking to the coaches box for approval/comfort. Last night probably went a long way to improve that.

If the future of tennis is Alcaraz v Brooksby fighting it out in 5 setters, I'm all in on that! Could care less about how many slams or their legacy, I just think that'll be some darn good tennis.

- USO plays very fast, so he could pass Tsi so often... Not many courts play so fast nowadays...
- He has not that good serve... HUGE problem for him... Not many free points, even on this fast court... In modern tennis, that is great back off...
- He has mediocre return... He struggled every time when Tsi had decent first serve percentages... Actually he was blown away in that periods and broke Tsi only when he served bad, bad, bad...

So, be prepared Alcaraz to do well this tourney or in best short period of time and to then to mostly "wanish"...
Off course, he is young, he will certainly advance in his game, but I predict him the fate of most young players here on TTW... HIPE to LostGen talk...
And to end with... I hope I am wrong... Like him a lot, he reminds me even with play style to young Djokovic, maybe he will develop same as Nole...

Alcaraz had lots of potential, but Tsisipas was terrible. His tactics were awful: running around BH, and not able to cover the FH side; and being always vulnerable to the dropshots.

Alcaraz had much less experience, but his tactics were much better. But let's just see him against somebody who's capable of decent tennis.

We don't know if he will become a multiple slam champion, but I'm pretty sure he will be at least a top10 player and probably top5 and at least a slam.

He has a lot of power already at his age but his body is already very muscular so likely hasn't as much room to get stronger but even at his current strength he can hit through many guys already.

Being top 50 at 18.5 years is extremely impressive and he only will get better.

I think next spring he will be close to top20. That is when it gets interesting as in the top 20 there is a jump in quality and FAA and coric also were just outside the top 20 around their 19th birthday and then they stagnated there a bit for some time.

Doesn't have to be like this for him but I think his technical stroke quality, nature body power and overall talent will Basically automatically bring him to top 20 but that is when he really needs to start grinding hard to make the small improvements and of course stay healthy too.

What he does then will Determine if he wins multiple slams or "only" becomes a borderline top10 guy.

Regarding the tstsipas win it was great but I wouldn't overrate it either as tstsi can be a bit of a surprise bag in his performance but alcatraz has shown multiple times he can keep up with top20 guys Already on a good day this year.

I can't predict but I would guess he will win at least a slam and at least reach a level like zverev or so but there still is work to do to get there
