Alcaraz has more slams now than 89-99 born combined

We finally have a new ATG in the making! And he’s a nice kid to boot :) Excited to see how the rest of his career is going to pan out. I originally had him going on to win 10-12 schlems, but I might have to up that tally. I think he can get to or maybe even pass PETE now.

Carlos better than Pete lol, Unbelievable ! Carlos might win 20 slams if Sinner doesn't become a worthy rival.

That 90s gen is basically finished and Alcaraz / Sinner generation will only continue to collect titles - I wonder how history will remember this period

Do they really count though?

I thought his slams are a product of a weak era where he never faced a prime Big 3, no?

Moreover, based on the eye-test theory, his US and French Opens should only count as inflated ones due to not playing "great level" of tennis, while his Wimbledon should also be considered inflated due to playing a 16 years old opponent in the final.

Numbers mean nothing and Karl still got a lot to prove.

I was going to make a thread like this, but you beat me to it. What’s even more significant is that he’s done it all at 21. He didn’t even need to hit his peak to demolish everything Med, Tsits and Z ever achieved.

Poor 90s gen’s. They were basically punching bags for big 3, and now that big 3 are on their way out, they’re being violated by Sinner and Alcaraz. The career inflation era benefits both those who came before, and those who come after.

I like last line TTW armchair critics. Accepting your own weakness is a great quality. Wining slam is not easy. Weak competition or peak competition you has to win 7 matches on the trot.
