Alcaraz has one big advantage in his ascent to the slam record

Djokovic has laid out to him (and any future generation for that matter) the blueprint for optimal health and longevity. All Alcaraz needs to do is copy it and the slam record is his for the taking, bar multiple other GOAT-level players popping up within the next few years the way the big 3 had to deal with each other.

Djokovic? Please. He didn’t even discover bread was poisonous until he was 23 years old.

Alcaraz is way way ahead of anyone at this point in time when it comes to “optimized health and longevity”, if that’s the euphemism you want to use for it. He has been getting plasma injections since he was 15. With the Good Doctor Cotorro on his side, he is doing just fine.

I don't think anyone can replicate Djokovic, he won 12 slams in his 30s, now who can win that ?

Even Alcaraz won't be able to, however there is a possibility that he wont have to, he could win bulk in 20s itself.

In a way u feel bad for Djokovic

At least RF had years from 2004-2017, where everyone thought he will end up with the highest numbers for eternity.

Only during 2017-19 when Nadalovic started getting close , then we weren’t sure who amongst the two will lead

Now in 2024 when it is all set and done with Nadal, you would think that Djokovic can enjoy his time under the sun but Alcaraz has started his journey and does not mince words and has started he is going for it

Djokovic will have the slam record for many years. Even way after he has retired! Maybe even longer than Fed had it. Alcaraz can win CYGS next 3-4 years and he stilll will be behind. Don’t feel sorry for him! Lol

But we have already started talking about Alcaraz getting big numbers and Alcaraz has more majors at current age .

Federer’s record was not seen as being threatened until 2018 by the majority

I do feel sad for Djokovic

I feel worse for Federer when he falls to 4th and drops off the podium!

Imagine this scenario. Alcaraz gets big numbers and he beats Feds Wimbledon records and ends on 21-22 slams. Would you still be happy then? Imagine him just doing enough to get past Fed and takes the remaining Fed records. How would you feel then?

Careful what you wish for? Lol

That is a hypothetical but not realistic scenario . I think Alcaraz puts all of the big 3 behind

We will see. I would laugh so hard if my reality came true. You built him up to pass Djokovic. He came close but yet so far and puts Fed more in the shade. You would probably turn on him in anger.

Alcaraz is like a means to end for you as you want Djokovic off the top spot! We will see how it goes ;)

No, Alcaraz is a sweetheart. To me the group is now ‘Big 4’

We still have like 4-5 years to wait and see if a real contender emerges, like with Fed.

This is true but Carlos is an early bloomer like Nadal, instantly winning slams. Whereas Federer was a 'late' bloomer. He's going to get off to a huge head start at this rate. Seems to have the hunger to threaten all of the records too .

Just months ago, Alcaraz had severe problems with his racket arm, due to his massive, explosive underarm and wrist movement.. This is potentially a very dangerous injury, ask Thiem. When Borg came up, very early in his career, several experts like Newcombe talked, that he would not last long because of his arm and wrist style. Its a wonder that Nadal lasted that long. So better wait and enjoy the fine tennis, as long it goes. There are other aspects in the game, than only slam count, like for example combinations of slams, equal domination of surfaces, distancing from fellow rivals, domination of the tour, charismatic style of tennis. McEnroe has not the greatest record in tennis numbers, but most people remember him, because he played such a beautiful and intriguing tennis on the very highest level..

Imagine Carlos the Shepherd getting 21 slams, 9 WC (winning 6 straight), 320 weeks at #1, a CYGS, 5 LC's, and his own hat.
