Alcaraz is the best U21 of all time

Youngest ever to win a Grandslam on grass , clay and hard.

He's him , folks. And realistically he's coming for the big 3 records
Borg might be better, check borgs and carlos win loss at same age? Check how many titles they won same age? Becker won 3 Wimbledon's when he was 21.

This is the only kind of nauseating stuff that makes me tempted to not support Alcaraz. I don’t think he’s been better than 08 Djokovic (for example) at either slam this year but apparently this is all next level tennis

Whatever though - cutting out all the hype noise out, he is an utter joy to watch

statistics are misleading
carlos played badly in the final and his performance is nothing great to mark him the best 21
rafa is much better than him at 21 performance wise
How does it make sense to use "playing badly" as your standard to judge a player's complete level?

When Alcaraz "plays well" he annihilates great players like Zverev and Medvedev [6-3 6-1]

You just prove how good Alcaraz is that even when he plays bad he wins Grand Slams

Sigh, I knew this was going to happen. I didn’t want to have to do this since Tiny Carl is the new successor as my favorite active player now that RAFA is all but retired, but I’ll go ahead and lay out the tale of the tape.

RAFA after RG 07:

3 GS titles

4 GS Fs (lost to Peakerer at Wimby)

9 MS 1000’s (got screwed out of a Miami title )

22 total titles

Tiny Carl after RG 24:

3 GS titles

3 GS Fs

5 MS1000’s

14 titles

Now if Tiny Carl can win 1 of the next 2 schlems then I’ll say he’s more accomplished than RAFA at the same age. But if we’re talking about who’s the better player, it’s RAFA by a country mile. The competition he faced to win his titles was vastly tougher. Beating peak Fed regardless of any matchup advantage is much more impressive than beating: Casper the friendly MUG who’s only won 1 250 on HC. An ancient Oldovic who had a negative ace to DF and winner to UFE on grass of all surfaces. And lastly a choking Zedrot…I guess I could have just said Zedrot since adding choking is just redundant at that point.
We can say that Alcaraz has the luck of a champion, right?

Djokovic was a great player back then, but a dull and boring one to watch (he still is boring to watch) that why noone likes him...he never had that kind of innated talent than Alcaraz has, Alcaraz is a ****ing genius.

Yes, he wasn't in the best shape due to injury, but he still won, it’s worth a lot. And he saved tennis from the most shameful winner in history.

Nadal was still a bit more accomplished at age 21 plus epsilon. 4 more M1000s and played one more slam final.

He's had one helluva start to his career. Let's see where he goes from here. A Wimby title would be epic.

Tbh I would still take Nadal at this stage in their careers (2007 Nadal vs 2024 Alcaraz). Beat peak Federer in 3 Slams to win his titles.

Raz beat Ruud, Djokovic, and Zverev.
While I agree I take Nadal it's not totally fair to Carlos to reduce his competition to 3 guys. You could call it Sinner, Djokovic, and Sinner and also he's had fairly deep competition in his draws too. Cilic/Sinner/Ruud Berr/Rune/Med/Djo and Stef/Sinner/Zed. Not bad.

Carlos is amazing but Rafa imo was better at 21, although Carlo seems more all rounded. If Carlos played 06 Fed last year at WIM, I doubt he’d win a set. Didn’t see Borg but his achievements at 21 seem better too

Its funny, Djokovic won 3 majors last year=GOAT

Carlos beating djok at wimbledon=weak slam win. :cautious:

Not sure what you’re getting at here. I called 2023 (and basically any year after 2014) a weak year. I wasn’t impressed by any of Joker’s schlem wins last year, and think he played bad in the 23 Wimby F.

Some say he’s the best water drinker and air breather as well, setting so many amazing records already

Next he will fart the whole alphabet :-D

Borg had 3 majors before turning 21 and an extra final at the US Open, and compared to Alcaraz's first major after turning 21, Borg's is far more impressive relatively speaking, beating Năstase, then Gerulaitis in arguably the best played match ever, and then Jimmy Connors.
