Alcaraz New Custom Shoes

That’s true, great take. Not sure why crossess like fed had tho. @Babolast do you know something new about this shoes? will they finally be released or completely forgotten with the vapor 12 even dor carlos?
nope, definitely won't be retail release in 2025. What's new are Vapor 12 and Vapor pro 3

Juan Carlos isn't wearing the same shoes ? does he not like them ? and where can i buy that shoe Carlos is wearing, ? i want to just as fast as him
Juan Carlos is wearing the sangria colorway of the Nike Vapor pro 2, also worn by Draper in Basel, you can buy those on various websites. However, Carlos shoes are a custom made model made only for him in the retail colorways of vapor 11. Carlos shoe is a mix of Vapor pro and vapor 11.

I wonder if it's because of his orthotic. Part of it is that he probably likes the Vapor Pro traction and feels confident in it. The second part might be that the last might be shallower, allowing for a little more room to accommodate his orthotic.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. That Vapor X/VP1 outsole is great for the way he plays. It's really easy to slide and stop in, which is something he obviously needs. He looked really uncomfortable trying to move in the Vapor 11s when he tried it out in Abu Dhabi in 2023. Way more grip in Vapor 11 than the VP1.

Agreed, I also am starting to think that the full-length tread is better for how he plays, I'm also noting the comfort is a huge thing, he's played with the same shoe for so long now making a change would throw off his timing, especially with how much he plays shots on the run. I wish Foot Doctor Zach would make a video about what types of customizations he would make for a player like Alceraz. At what point does he switch to a carbon fiber shank or is he a candidate for a double shank? Also, why don't pros like Alceraz have their orthotic molded into the shoe, I feel like having an orthotic that you take out and put in every pair of shoes might be a little annoying, and what if they move a little? Especially if a company is fully customizing your shoe from the ground up why not?

Honestly if anything these kinda look harder to make - seems like the 'fit frame' is actually molded into the midsole which is kind of impressive....

And there you go, custom made to look like a vapor 12, but outsole and mold of a vapor pro. Still looks less customized than tha vapor 11 worn by him
Not sure what you mean by the mold of the Vapor Pro. The upper is pretty much identical to the Vapor 12. Same lacing system, same tongue. The sockliner area around the ankle is also same angle as the V12. The heel counter does stick out more, more similar to Vapor Pro. We don't have a picture of it yet, but I wonder if on the medial side, he still has the foam "claws" as he did in his "V11"

RIP to the Carlos custom V11. Truly some of the great looking Nike Frankensteins.

We had a great run
Agreed but this place can be so funny sometimes.

Carlitos with custom franken-Vapors: "I can't believe Nike is making him a PE they won't release, LAME"
Carlitos with a Vapor that basically looks retail minus the outsole: "I can't believe Nike made his new shoe look identical to the retail model, LAME"

but because the retail v 11 were way uglier than his franken-vapors, the joke was on us
You're not wrong, but I think the main issue with the V11 is that it was a good shoe that simply didn't feel or perform like a Vapor. I'm working through 2 pairs right now and whether it's coaching or playing the shoe is honestly pretty good overall, if a touch heavy, but calling it a Vapor sets certain expectations. Seems like the 12 will be able to meet them better.

I dont think that someone thinks like that. I personally think that finally nike gave us what he will wear (if not the outsole but its ok)

Yeah looking better maybe its not a custom mold…they look a bit “sharper” in the heel area tho but maybe its my impression. Finally a great looking shoe that will be availible!

Honestly man I have been on this board for like 20 years that is EXACTLY how a lot of people think. But yes I agree, by the same token I would love a return of the Zoom Zero that Sinner wears!

I think he just does not like the new vp12, He easily could have gotten a different color of the vp12 but must like the old shoe more
I agree. But you know what? I’ve seen the red vapor 12 on ferrero’s feet and its honestly horrendous on feet. I liked the leak but i dont think its really worth it. Especially since it will be pricey. The custom vapor 11, probably its my point of view, was the best custom vapor ever created at least for looks. And nike fumbled hard on that shoe. But it looks like they dont care about tennis anymore.

literally every colour on that custom silhouette was a complete Banger. I really cant wrap my head around that and it pissess me off a lot the fact that i cant buy it lol

The colorways were amazing, I think it is the best looking tennis shoe I have ever seen.
right?? Also for me its like that. Sorry Fedfans but not even fed custom vapors were cool like that custom alcaraz vapor 11, at least for me…happy to not be alone on that opinion.
