What I love about his confidence is, one, that he backs it up with winning and, two, he's not afraid to say it out loud. He kind of reminds me of a young Djokovic in that sense, speaks his mind in terms of how he feels about his ability. Federer and Nadal were always more reserved, kind of boring and robotic off the court one can say PC even although Federer had a big time understated arrogance to him and rightfully so mind you.

It was enough that Alcaraz didn't win either HC major.

Yah man, so far so good, he's excelled. Enjoy his candid stance too. To my eyes, NONE of the Big 3 were 'humble'. Each showed, in their own way, their belief and awareness of how good they were. Loved it.
Carlitos' achievements speak for themselves. Who knows what will happen in the future - but Carlitos certainly has the potential to win the AO during his career. Hope he does it, and soon. With Jannik rampant on hc's and Novak back, Sasha at his peak and a few others lurking too, it should be a very interesting AO 2025.

None of the Big 3 were humble but Federer and especially Nadal hid it better than Djokovic who just didn't give a ****, he said what he wanted and didn't care what people thought. It was one of the reasons why I really liked young Djokovic, he sort of rebelled against the "clean cut" establishment of Fedal and wasn't scared of them one bit while the rest of the tennis world was bowing down to them and kissing their boots or tennis sneakers so to speak.
Alcaraz isn't as brash and outspoken as Djokovic but he isn't scared of anybody and he has no problem saying how good he is and can be. Sinner is more of the "aw shucks" type which is fine but is kind of generic and boring IMO.

True but Fedovic had the misfortune of having the Nadal as the obstacle at the FO.
Granted Fed blew that 2004 opportunity (IIRC he was the bookies favourite for the FO that year) and well Novak lost to Stanimal in 2015.
