Alcaraz v djokovic the match up

G.O.A.T.
I love alcaraz. My favourite player on tour. Oozes charisma. However sadly i think djokovic is his kyrptonite. Here is what worries me in thus matchup.
At wimbledon djokovic was dominating any time the wind dropped. It was when the wind got up that alcaraz turned things round. Equally yesterday the heat bothered djokovic much more than alcaraz. Once it cooled when the sun went down djokovic dominated.
Seems to me that if conditions are normal alcaraz doesnt have the game to bother novak as novak does everything a bit better. Ashe is so big its rarely wind affected. By the second week as the fall takes hold condirions are usually less hot. Djokovic the past two matches has by his standards served badly. Under 65% 1st serves both matches which for him is unusual.
Looking back alcaraz needed to stamp on djokovic while it was hot and he was ailing and finish that 2nd set 6-2.
More i think abput it i think alcaraz is going to go out early in NY. He hss looked a bit burnt out as another poster mentioned in another thread and got a feeling yesterday will have broken him mentally for this season. Still a great season for him and he is only 20. A reduced schedule after NY would be sensible. To turn things round with djokovic he has got to improve that serve and have a better shot tolerance.
Djokovic still by far the best player on tour.

I think you need to remember that he was not expected to do well on grass, not expected to win Queen’s, not expected to beat Djokovic at WB, not expected to get anywhere in Cincinnati as he was in poor form. How wrong was all that?

He is a fast learner, and he is the future. He is one of the mentally strongest on the tour. I think you are over thinking this.

Doesnt concern you that when conditions were more normal novak was all over him at W and Cinci? There seems a pattern there

Not really; extreme weather conditions have become somewhat the norm in the last few years. If Novak needs that then that’s why he rules on indoor hard courts. Good luck with the AO where it’s boiling hot these days.

extreme weather is coming
tennis as a sport is only playable for 5 more years
earths ability to sustain human life will only last 10 more years
afterwards insects will take over
homosapiens had a good run at the top

Djokovic isn’t his kryptonite; their matches have all been close blockbusters. Djokovic is simply the GOAT and still in good form.

Let’s enjoy what we have now of this rivalry. Logic dictates that Alcaraz will steadily get better over the next couple of years and Djokovic will steadily (or drastically at that age) get worse. We most likely have maybe 1-2 more years where this rivalry is competitive and entertaining af so let’s enjoy it
