Alexander Sascha Zverev: If Novak doesn’t go to Australia and I win the tournament, I would come out as the World No. 1

And don't push the false narrative of "young HC GOAT" just because it justifies your nole-defending-ego..

25yo priming player who requires a 35yo tour veteran to skip a slam in order to boost his winning chances is anything but a HC goat.
Yes, your eyes have been open. You can thank me later. Only the sharpest tennis analytical eye could see that the guy experienced a 2003 Federer moment in 2021. Some fans are for a rude awakening because Alexander Sascha is here to stay, and here to stay for a very long time. ;)

Blah blah blah..

Yeah, with all those top ten wins at slams and that stellar performance in your one and only slam final, no wonder you are so confident!!!

how many forum members here hate all big3 players?????????
'Hate' is not the correct word. 'Bored' is a better description of my feelings.

I'm just tired of watching them play. There's no excitement anymore. You could literally watch a Fed/Nadal/Djoker match from 5 years ago and see the same point construction and strategies.

At this point I'm more interested in a Benoit Paire match than a Big 3 match...

sorry not hate but dislike or bored

The main difference being that Fed won a slam in 2003, he got over that mental hurdle unlike Zed.

That said, I do think he was playing slam winning tennis at last USO. First time I thought he showed championship form in a slam. I mean there's 2020 USO he almost won but even there he stumbled through the draw really. 2021 USO he was rock solid aside from the Sock match.

I ridicule the guy for the "no top 10 wins a slam" as much as the next TTWer but it wouldn't exactly shock me if he won a HC slam next year.

Probably not, unless the CCP friendly Communist Vic government suddenly recognize the Russian vaccine.
Medvedev resides in Monte Carlo, so maybe he didn't get Sputnik. He knows that AO only recognises certain vaccine brands. He already said that he'll play in AO.

"if Novak doesn’t go to Australia" dumb declaration, he confesses himself he's inferior or afraid of Novak :-D what type of champion makes that kind of statement. For the rest :

Novak is truly the last defense of TTW against the oncoming cascade of Zverev season.

Abs chains and swag is all you have to look forward to from 2023-2026. How does that make you feel, TTW denizens? Personally, I feel a bit queasy.

Djokovic
11,540 - 2,600 = 8,940

Zed
7,840 - 785 = 7,055

If Djokovic skips it and Zed takes it
#1 Zed
#2 Djoko
#3 Med

That would be epic actually. ;)

It's true though. The gap between Zverev and Medvedev is small right now, barely 800 points I think. If the Olympics Games awarded points, Zverev would already be ahead of him.

Zverev defends 720 points (from the semi in 2020) at AO and very few at the ATP Cup, so let's say 750.
Medvedev defends 1700 between ATP Cup and AO.
Djokovic defends 2665. If he skips everything and Zverev beats Medvedev in final of AO, he becomes #1... and until Madrid he isn't defending too many points, 500 in Acapulco, 180 in IW and that's about it.

And yes lol... if Djokovic skips and Medvedev loses before the final, Zverev could win without beating a top10. I don't trust players like Ruud, Rublev Berrettini or Hurkacz to make it to the quarters or semis if they're in his half...

Really only at the HC Slams though. Zverev can be a year round contender, Dani is a complete mug from March-July.

Alcaraz is our only hope.
Meddy will be one of the worst no.1's if he doesn't learn how to excel on another surface.

I think every other no.1 was good on at least 2 surfaces.

Med is taking care of him.

Yes, but what did the young HC Goat -- Medvedev -- say? You know the one with 100% more Slams...

This kid is always getting ahead of himself. Boy, I hope he gets Murray or Kyrgios. Where will Zverev sit in the rankings if he loses in the first round?
