Alize Cornet given code violation for changing shirt

Returning after a break, Alize Cornet realized her new shirt was on back to front so quickly reversed it without doing anything to draw attention to herself. I wouldn't have even given it a second thought if the male umpire hadn't immediately given her a code violation for unsportsmanlike conduct. I would have definitely given it many second thoughts if it was Sania Mirza but unfortunately it wasn't. :(

The fact that it wasn't Sania Mirza, and that Alize has the body of a teenage boy, just draws attention to how strange the decision was. Weird.

"Unsportsmanlike conduct". But she's not a man yet men are allowed to change their shirts.
Men don't even cover their breasts so even more offensive.

I've wondered before wtf do males have nipples for (and wtf are fingernails for)

If males can change shirts but females can't then that is stupid, and for once squealer & co actually have something to roll around on the floor hysterically about.

Males follow the female blueprint for the first 4 weeks of growth before the Y chromosome kicks in; so when women say men don't know what it's like to be a woman, we actually all were female for 4 weeks (kind of)!

World's gone mad. I look forward to a life when all people are naked and live peacefully next to each other. No more stupid dress code, no more discrimination.

I'm not getting the Sania Mirza reference. Please enlighten me. Alize should claim she was only trying to be American like Brandi Chastain and why not give Serena a code violation for wearing a catsuit?
Serena would never put her cat suit on backwards

So the French Government passed a law for Roland Garros?
See, I always said France is not a free country.

Well they passed a law against wearing full faced burqas so I presume that would include Roland Garros as it is in France!

I thought you were talking about women sport tops.
So full faced burqas are banned in women tennis in France, are they banned anywhere else?

Would she have gotten a violation if she waited for a change over and did it at her chair?

Would a man have gotten one for taking his shirt off at the back of the court?

Catsuitgate and now Boobgate - we need to keep our women under control, obviously! Burqas, anyone?
If a man wore tights showing a visible bulge he would have received a lot of flak too

I'd say this one has more to do with the timing of it than what she did. If she did it during a changeover, it would have been fine

Carlos Bernardes famously refused to allow Nadal to go back into the tunnel so he could put his shorts back on the right way round. He just sat and laughed while Nadal had to use a towel by his chair. Nadal got the ATP to ban him from umpiring any of Nadal's matches for a while but I'm not sure if Cornet has the same kind of leverage with the ITF.
