Current Davis Cup rule does not allow Bedene to play.

Why would you want to deport him ? He has acquired citizenship through the process ?

Bedene can't play for the British Davis Cup team due to the rules though personally this is something I'm 50/50 on, James Ward has busted his rear end for the team, Kyle Edmund and Broady are moving up the rankings...Dan Evans has fallen off of the wagon (Poor bloke) is their the question of ethics? Would such and such be bitter about being left out for Bedene? Or would they take it on the chin for the team?

Then you've got the flip side, Bedene is a really good player on his day, he's a top 100 player on his day and can bring it.

I can't remember if anyone made a whoharrr about old Canadian Greg representing GB.

Davis Cup is thinking of changing rules with respect to final set tiebreaker . They may do this also if they get pressure from the British Tennis Federation.

I don't think Bedene would care one way or the other

There's nothing that says that a Davis Cup captain has to pick the higher ranked player. Ask Vincent Spadea about the 2004 Davis Cup final, when Patrick McEnroe picked the lower ranked Mardy Fish ahead of Spadea.

Even if Bedene was available for British Davis Cup selection, it's entirely up to the captain, currently Leon Smith, as to whether he picks Bedene.
