All 4 Majors now have 10 point TB in the 5th set...why?

I'm a little disappointed to hear all 4 Majors have agreed to the same format for ending a 5th set.
I thought it added a little variety while still be true to tennis that each Slam had a slightly different end to it.

My favorite was Wimby's format, followed by AO, RG and finally US Open (a 7pt TB just seemed too short in the midst of a classic 5 setter).
Now all 4 will have a 10 pt TB at 6-6 in the fifth.

To me what makes the most sense is what Wimbledon did. It was a good mix of the original rules and TB.
If two players are really close let them play to 12-12 before a 7pt TB. In effect, you played another set.
This allowed the better all round player the best chance to win, added the need for complete fitness, and limit the risk of someone getting some lucky points in a TB to claim a match.
Also allowed for more classic matches to be made with virtually an additional set of full service games.

In addition, for the length of the tournament it puts more demand on those players that have to scrap their way through matches. Sure no more 32-30 fifth sets making the winner useless for the next match. But if they adopted the old Wimby rules, you have a balance, the 5 setter played in effect an extra set compared to someone who won without going to a TB.

I fear B03 1st-3Rd rounds will be coming next if not no-ad scoring.

This generation has the attention span of a gnat, that’s why. My friends were complaining that the Batman movie was too long.

I'm an ancient Gen X.
I love 5 set matches.
I love Batman movies.
I thought I'd hate Pattison, but I was impressed.
But damn it was too long...still good though.

They should have at least changed the formula in the finals of each Grand Slam event and instead of playing the tie break in 6-all, they should have made it 12-all, like Wimbledon did a few years ago.
After all, it is the decisive match and they deserve each of these Majors tournaments, a more exciting option for the viewer.
In the end, the ITF was sold to the television networks.
Not surprising at least, though.

I would have preferred having a 7-point TB at the end of the fifth set like they do at the end of every other set. Like the USO used to have. 7-point TBs usually have more drama and are closer than 10-point TBs typically.

It was. Should have been a 75 min movie. EndGame was also too long. They could have sped up Toni stark's death scene. Didn't need the be more than 20 seconds. An hour and half would have been perfect for the movie.

The problem with the Batman movie wasn't its length per se, but the pacing was off. I'm fine watching a 3 hour movie if that's how long it needed to be. This one could have been trimmed to 140 minutes and it would have been a better movie

The torture was too much for them to bear any longer.
