The greatest, he was tonight. Not just tonight, but throughout the entire 2015. So many impressive matches, so many great shots, such a cool head. He was THE man to beat.

After so many painful years before 2011, and a couple of disappointments in 2012-2014, Novak Djokovic has responded in the best possible way, having the best season since Laver 1969. How long will he keep this amazing level of performances going? Nobody knows. But two things are certain. 1. He has undoubtedly sealed his place in the highest league of tennis players, and 2. He is now going to rest and enjoy reminding himself of all these magical moments that happened this year.
You deserved this more than anyone else Novak. Whenever people doubted you, you proved them wrong in the best and classiest way possible. For me, you are the best sportsman in the world and best inspiration there is right now. Many many congratulations to you for this miraculous year, as well as all the achievements in the previous ones, and I hope you keep amazing us with your fantastic tennis and wish you all the best in 2016 and beyond.

You've been working on this for a while, haven't you?

Stan ruined a perfect season. Dominating the full season is harder than it looks, just ask serena

It is safe to say that Federer and Rafa always bring the best out of Novak.
Won't be the same or mean as much once they fade away.
In other words, 2011 and 2015 are among the greatest seasons of all time, not just by the numbers, or because of Novak, but because of Fedal in 2011 and Federer in 2015.

Wow that must have taken alot of work to compile. Impressive stuff though. Truly an amazing year and one of the best years ever. People can say weak competition but I broke this down in another thread and all the really dominant years have weaker competition. Federer (2006), Djokovic (2015), Nadal (2010) all had their best years ever in a year the competition was considerably below other years of that whole period, and McEnroe had his best year ever (1984) in the year after Connors's best was clearly over for good (83) and before Lendl's best really started (85). That isnt coincidence, and it is almost a neccessity for anyone to be that dominant. It still requires the highest level of performances, mental fortitude, durability, and drive to win to have a year anything like that.

There is still a chance I missed something. :D

And yet 95% of people here (and around the world) don't care about it. Quite sad, isn't it?

Interesting...
Nadal sucked today, Djokovic didn't play any better than he did against Federer and he won't play anything special tomorrow as well.

Federer in straight sets it will be, get prepared mentally.

There is no such thing as the match being on Djokovic's racquet when he's facing Federer, even an old Federer. He's too much of a pusher to dictate anything against a true natural aggressor like Fed.

When he lost on the court, his fans took it to the boards to attack Djokovic's popularity... Again. I'm loving this.

I, for one, am hoping for a couple more "sad" seasons like this :D

Djokovic is so sad now. I am so sad now. Other fans of his are so sad as well... because he should have lost less than 7 games today.
You seemed to care about it enough to comment here. What happened to that inevitable straight sets win for Federer today?

I just realised that 70 of Novak's 82 wins this year were at Masters 1000 level and above. I'd imagine that's another record of his that won't be broken any time soon!

That's the biggest disadvantage of being in your mid 30's. Bad days like this happen more and more often.

Too many superlatives out there to describe Novak's season and career achievements but I love you Novak, I'm glad to witness such a season from you and you capped it off with a perfect ending by winning the WTF :)

Definitely one for the ages

To be more precise what happened.

First time to defeat Federer 3 times at the US Open? First man to knock out all other defending Slam champions in a calendar year? LOL, cool milestones bro. Cherry picking at it's finest. You could literally spend hours finding random achievements of a lot of players and produce a massive list. Only a few of them are actually impressive. Pathetic trying to prop of Faker. You also forgot to mention about all the benefits and factors that have been helping him for years now.

And there is nothing classy about Faker, wtf? He swears, smashes racquets frequently, scares ball kids, etc, and has been doing this since he debuted on the tour. Delusion at it's finest. Just yesterday I saw a clip of him throwing all of his water out of his bottle at the 2007 USO final, after he had lost the first set, which caused a delay of play. This just after he threw his racquet. Funny that. Faker and sportsmanship do not go together.

I'm going through it carefully now. Really not much to add. Good job.
I only came up with a few rather mean records. Let me know if you would like to include any.
First and only player to beat Federer 5 times (5 finals) in a season.
First and only player to beat Nadal 6 times (6 finals) in a season.
Twice reaching all 5 tier 1 finals in North America. (this needs to be confirmed)
2nd most titles won in Asia at 13, including Beijing, Shanghai ATP 1000, Shanghai TMC, Dubai, after Federer's 17. (this needs to be confirmed)

He didn't. He helped in making a (almost) perfect season. Without losing RG, it is unlikely that Djokovic would win W and USO.

Correct. I myself said after RG Nole would be a wounded beast and become much more dangerous.

He'll have it, sooner or later.

:D

Well, Federer is one of USO GOATs if not the USO GOAT. Why not mention that...
The defending Slam champion is usually the man to beat next time. So why not mention that too...
Never said all of them are colossal. But there are a total of 43 good milestones, if you can find something that was missed, go on and post it.
Benefits and factors? No idea what you are talking about.

Yep, you are obsessed. If you could just get out of his *** and enjoy the game it would be so much better... Oh well, it is your choice.

I like how you don't debate my second post, lmao. Because you know I speak the truth, but don't want to admit it.

And similar to not having any idea about the benefits and factors. I have said them time and time again. You know I am right, but this would make Faker's achievements feel less impressive, right? Right.

Get over it.

#2 First and only player to beat Nadal 6 times (6 finals) in a season.

# 4 2nd most titles won in Asia at 13, including Beijing, Shanghai ATP 1000, Shanghai TMC, Dubai, after Federer's 17. (this needs to be confirmed)
#1 will be included.
#2 was achieved in 2011.
#3 and #4 need confirmation as you said. Will check that out soon.

Why should I debate? It is well known that it is impossible to win any argument against a stupid person.
You just came to my thread and cried as usual and then you had the guts to tell me to get over something that makes no sense? You are having a big issue in that head of yours.

Gosh, I really wish I liked this guy. I wish I could see what his fans do in him. I just can't see how he excites you so much, I'm really trying.

What I see in him is like Rafa...but harder. Wait, that didn't sound right haha. But seriously, he represents "defiance" and "brutal perfection"...it resonates with me.

Berdych when he won the his only masters (paris) trophy in 2005 refrained from doing so, look at his expression (like saying what is this sh*t) :D
Trophy is given at 16:09...
Hahahaha.
Also young Berdych lol.
