A thread where everybody can post specs of all players on the tour, active or not

Try to stay on topic so that all the specs can be found in one place, without having to search for every player.

People should really post their sources.

Ok, since the thred is ****ed up now - and you are right - I will reply. The Muster specs are not from one specific source. Different old threads here on tt and from an old i.Prestige paint job that was sold on string forum.

Haha, sorry! Actually I'm not as angry as I sound. It came out wrong. I agree. Posters should post source. I'm just REALLY tired. Apologies.

How the heck does Nadal's racquet get nearly an ounce heavier after being strung?! And i seriously doubt he uses an 11.8oz racquet. Most of these weights look way off.

The unstrung weight is without OG and Dampener. Also consider the fact he is using 15L string, it all adds up.

Google 'Rafa's Racquet Redux' good info from Babolat

Nadal uses 4 1/4 and two overgrips.

All specs are from this forum, and posted by stringers from the tour, or users that have some of pro's racquets.

I only searched for players that I am interested in, so you all are welcome to post for all the other players.

lleyton strings higher than than that.

At Roland Garros 2011, Lleyton's tension was 39 LBS, in the 2012 grass court season it was 37 LBS, and this year's grass court season it was 35 LBS.

These were all with the same setup below:

I don't know if he used VS Team with Lux Alu Power as usual when he strings @25kg.

He is using VS Touch in the mains.

For the grass court season this year, this was his setup:

Mains - Babolat VS Touch 16 @ 35 LBS (no pre-stretch)
Crosses - Luxilon Big Banger Alu Power 17 @ 35 LBS

Hope this can be of help,

Edberg

There is no reliable single source with regards to Edberg's stick that I have found. Sources are various threads on this forum and a danish site that once upon a time had lots of info on string jobs for pros. I unfortunatly have lost the link to the site. But I remember Edberg's info. Edit: The danish site had links to the "Pro Equipment Logs" from racquettech dot com. On that site you need membership to access, but the danish site still has some newer logs linked. see ketcherstrenge dot dk

Pro Staff Midsize, bumperless, St.Vincent factory. Pro Staff Classic paintjob between circa 1991-1992.

Head size: 85 sq. inches
Weight: 360 or 376 g (unstrung) acc. to two different sources (paintjob stick for both numbers). The latter number possibly strung weight
Balance: 8 or 7 pt head light (unstrung) acc. to two different sources.
String pattern: 16 x 18
Stiffness: ?
Grip size: Custom between 4 1/2 and 4 5/8. I have seen claims of a built up buttcap as well.
Strings: Bow Brand Gut for most of his career. VS All Season for later career

Tension: 57/55 usually. Seen lower with bigger gap between mains/crosses for clay (55/51)

Possibly, Edberg got his sticks customized by the factory directly. No reports of any visible lead or other visible customizations.

He uses a custom mold Speed. There is a good thread about this, with pictures, and you can see that the racquet shape is different from the stock Speed.

You can also see the lead placement.

Does anyone know if this is correct ?

The Nadal specs don't look right. He's added tape to the tip of the racquet. I'm thinking it's heavier these days but thanks.

Phantasm

Semi-Pro

I think they're trying to list the player's actual racket and specs since most if not all pros don't use the actual rackets they advertise or endorse.

The rackets are just painted to look like the ones the most current models that are sold in stores.

Also, does Roger use the actual BLX90? I thought he uses his old 90 with a BLX paintjob. I guess it is still the Prostaff 90.

It is interesting though that he wraps his overgrips to suit a right-handed player.

Does anyone else know any other players that wrap their grip the opposite way to which hand they play with?

ProStringing

Actually it's very simple, Rafa is right handed except for playing tennis...

The Rafa specs should be wrong. I remember an interview after he lost to Djokovic that he was looking into changing his racket specs (if I recall correctly, he said he was adding weight).

If I recall correctly, his setup prior to that was simply 12g across the top and 3g in the buttcap (or maybe it was 9g/6g... it's been so long since I cared about this info...).

Also, I was under the impression that Murray used a 100% custom racket (this was a few years back, could've changed since).

I feel like Djokovic was in the same boat too. Inside the throats of their rackets, instead of the racket model, it had their names. Head usually has the model inside the throat (or on the pallet).

Yes...it looks that he uses only one overgrip now. And indeed, it's wraped in the same direction as the grip.

I will modify my post.

Hi Ericsson,

I know this. The point is that his fingers will not align with the grip direction.

This shows the problem. It is the same racket and grip (wrapped right handed).

Racket held in right hand:

RightHanded.jpg

As you can see above, my fingers align with the direction of the overlaps in the grip.

However, if I hold the racket in my left hand, my fingers do not align with the direction of the overlaps in the grip:

LeftHanded.jpg

I am right handed and cannot play as well with a left handed grip as I can with a right handed grip. (Rafa obviously can play very well with his fingers not aligning with the overlaps - perhaps this is one of the reasons why he requires so much taping compared to many of the other players).

The question I am asking is if there are any right handed players that have their grip wrapped left handed, or any left handed players that have their grip wrapped right handed (other than Rafa).

Nice post Jack. It's nice to have all specs in one place, rather than searching all the forum.

It would be nice if the specs from stringers room would give the weight, balance and SW also.

I agree, I was just hoping to contribute some sources to consolidate from. You might contact Dire Desire the Super mod and see if he can block out a few more empty posts for you on the 1st page. There's a character limit, and if you want to have all this on the first page you are going to run out of space pretty fast. I blocked off 6 replies just for my Master grips specs list, and that space filled up quick.

String question:

Is *********.com accurate for pro player string info? How about Colin the Stringer? I was looking for Vasek Pospisil's and Daniel Nestor's string and tension and Colin the Stringer says they both use Wilson Natural Gut, while ********* says they use VS Team. Granted, Colin's info dates back to the Davis Cup QF, but I doubt they would have changed strings between now and then.

Can anyone comment on the accuracy of these sites?

The ********* is "tennis zon".

Wilson players tend to use Wilson gut. I can also confirm they both Pospisil & Nestor use Wilson gut, not Babolat.

Thanks very much! I figured it didn't make sense that Wilson players would use Babolat gut, but just wanted to get that verified.

I found this site that lists what they found.. and some of it doesn't make sense. ie Federer is listed as having his racquet strung "Roger Federer Wilson Pro Staff Six.One Tour BLX
Wilson Natural Gut/Luxilon Big Banger Alu Power Rough 48.5/44lbs"

48.5/44lbs"? I don't think so. Everything else on this site is AWESOME. But this info looks shady. Fed is 25kg/23kg (55lbs/52lbs) more like it from what read here.
