All the pressure on Djokovic

Tomorrow a free hit for Nadal. He is leader of Slams with Federer and GOAT it seems in locker room now judging by player comments.
This is where being on 20 Majors is a big advantage. If Nadal loses and Djokovic wins the event he is still one ahead.
If Djokovic does not win the event then the result is meaningless.
For Djokovic he has to win. Last chance saloon. If Rafa gets 21 Majors game over.
Rafa should be ultra relaxed tomorrow. Semi final also a massive advantage for Nadal as well. If it goes over 4 hours Djokovic will be a sitting duck in the final anyway.
All the pressure on Djokovic

No the pressure is on nadal because he’s the slightly better player on clay. Anyway this match will be on nadal’s racquet and how he plays. Novak always make nadal uncomfortable so he will have to be in his best form.

Presure is on Nadal .
His next opportunity to win another slam comes after 12 months ( RG 2022 )
This is a must win for him
He has 20 Majors. Only way he is not leading slam race this year is if Djokovic does CYGS and obviously of he did the is GOAT we would all agree and Nadal will be happy to be 2nd to the perfect player lol.

How can all the pressure be on Novak? He's not the one going for the Slam record; Nadal is. The pressure is not only on Nadal, but it's vastly more in him. This is essentially his Wimbledon 2009 where he could be the all time leader in Slams if he wins this title.
Djokovic is not going for slam record? Not what he has been saying lol.
Your point would have a bit of validity if it was the final. Nadal would have more pressure. SF means he wont be thinking about 21.

Nope. The pressure is firmly on Nadal. Everybody is expecting it to be straightforward after the beatdown last year. This puts all the pressure on Rafa and takes a lot of pressure off Djokovic.

Vamos are peak dysgenics on LSD, don't bother trying to reason or communicate with them even. Even though they can wield language, it is a mere simulcra of communication.

No. Rome means nobody expects a beatdown. Rome way more significant than last FO. It is why im amazed Djokovic didnt tank v sonego.

Yeah, I'm sure what happened last year is more relevant than Djokovic breadsticking Nadal in Rome and almost winning the match.

Winning this title doesn't give Djokovic the Slam record and he's expected to lose. Nadal is expected to win because he owns this Slam and has only lost twice, and he's going for the biggest record in tennis. That's monumental pressure. Novak can go in and swing for the fences because he's not expected to win, and of course Nadal is thinking about 21. If he wins this, 21 is pretty much guaranteed.

It is because Rome has no bearing on RG as we have repeatedly seen in the past. RG in Nadal's fortress.
Looks like you are indeed stuck in the past. RG doesn't exist anymore, it is the Djokovic Open now. The match will be played later than usually, so the conditions will favor Djokovic even more than the Rome conditions. Again, he got broken just 3 times in this tournament so far. I don't remember him doing anything close to this in the previous years.

The last time he participated at the USO he emerged victorious so undoubtely he is a treat there, perhaps even the favorite :D
Nadal was a very good player on Hardcourts overall and beat RF and nole many times during 2009-2013 .

But he has lost 15+ Harcourt matches matches in a row to Nole and RF after 2013 . He isn't as good on hardcourt as before 2014 .

So I would put Novak as favourite versus Rafa on any Hardcourts ( USO too ) .

So Nadal is Fav for RG only .
If he can again win Wimbledon or USO and prove me wrong then il say Hats off Nadal  (y)

No lol. Djokovic has all the pressure for reasons you state. If he wants slam record he has to win tomorrow. Last chance saloon. Nadal has a huge advantage 2 Majors ahead. I said same last year.

If Nadal wins WB or USO again , il say " hats off Nadal " . Till then ,I don't see him as favourite at either slams , bud .

It's the one tournament where Nadal always fancies his chances, the one that's often been the only Major he's won in a season, and you think there is no pressure on him whatsoever.

Well, I am aware of the general context, but in an eventual big match there you never know.Novak has underperformed at the USO and even if on paper he should win in an eventual match there vs Rafa, things are a little more complicated I'm afraid :D

I don't know if you created this thread to make yourself feel better and release some tension of the match coming up but you are 100% wrong on this.

As a Nadal and Roddick fan, I gotta admit that the whole pressure is on Nadal.

It is RG. Nadal is the God of clay and is expected to destroy Djokovic at RG (as usual).

No because like you say he deals with this annually lol.
Sure he deals with it annually but if he doesn't win then it's even slimmer chance he'll do damage somewhere else. Djokovic has more preferred events for himself coming up regardless of what happens this week and will fancy his chances there.

Im not tense. At worse it is 20-20-19. USO ill be tense possibly
Semi final just doesnt get my juices going like a final. If Rafa has same mindset then all good as he will relax.
It is must win for Djokovic. You lot harp on as if he is a certainty to win Wimbledon and USO lol. Winning majors is tough.
If it is 21-18 on Monday bye bye Djokovic. Hence why pressure all on him

Djokovic is a lock for at least 3 more AO and Wimbledon titles so I wouldn’t be so sure if I were you

Why are they all retiring after this year?? No one is expecting Novak to win while everyone is expecting nadal to win and regards to slam count, Novak has years left in him and he has chances in all the 3 other slams.

Djokovic is the outright favourite for 3 of the 4 slams, I'd say that alone puts him in a way more comfortable position. While if Nadal slips here it may just be game over for him. As always, everyone is expecting him to win, it's the slam record that adds another layer of immense pressure. Let's see how he deals with that, he's never been in a situation like this before.

It's not a must win for Djokovic. Only one of his Slams came here. He won 17 others elsewhere. This Slam would be a bonus for him because he has other Slams where he is not only a favorite over Nadal but the rest of the field. If Rafa loses here, the disadvantaged one would be him because he may not win another Slam until the next RG. He is not a lock for USO especially if he has to go through Djokovic, Medvedev, Tsitsipas, or Zverev, and he hasn't won the other two in a very long time.

Nobody is a lock for anything. Stuff like that just fuels other players. I am worried Zverev and Tsitsipas will die on court before losing to Nadal or Djokovic precisely due to being ignored totally. The guys have egos.
