I am a huge fan of tennis shoes, with special interest in signature shoes and i believe that like me, there are many other out there.

so i came up with this idea of creating thread gallery to all the signature shoe models that have been endorsed by tennis players.

I will start to post some that i remeber or know about.

Any contribution will be helpfull to create a descriptive memory of the history of signature tennis shoes. feel free to post pics or make sugestions.

Gotta add a pic of the Adidas Rod Lavers, the Nike Air Oscillate's for Sampras. Agassi always had his own shoe when he was with Nike, didn't he?

I've had a leather version of the Rod Laver adidas shoes-- the ultimate classic shoe imo.

and 3 pairs of Agassi's:
air zoom assailant
air zoom beyond
air zoom courtposite

I think that's all unfortunately.

my next shoe might be the Oscillates

Thanks for the contributions. i was more looking to the real signature shoes...
Model named after the player.... So Rod Lavers will go. oscillates and challenges not really, although i have a huge fixation for both players (Pete and Andre)

wasnt wilhelm bungert famous for getting to the finals of wimbledon and then being dismantled by borg? i believe the adidas rep for my store said he got to the final and lost 6-0, 6-0, 6-0 to borg?

He lost to John Newcombe 6-3, 6-1, 6-1 in 1967.

yeah, it was the same as the all court, just grey with yellow with the signiture at the back. was released with the roddick pure drive. he only wore them for a few months thou then wen tback to the normal white/red/black. that shoe makes me laugh, you can see he had the support strap on it before the propulse even came on the scene! got to be be based on the reeboks he used to wear?

I thought that diadora didnt offer the borg shoe to the general public? borg only, just like his racquets?

Diadora had a whole line of Borg shoes. A can still remember the Diadora ads from the early 80's Borg would said: "Diadora are like Ferrari for your feet."
Here is the model Borg wore the most. I had the Borg Elite and this model below if remember correctly was called the Borg Signature.

Donnay also had a whole line of Borg racquets. Borg used the Allwood and then the Borg Pro. Although Borg's personal racquets were custom made for him to with stand his high string tensions.

It was my memory that the style I posted of the Borg Signature is the style Borg wore at the French Open and Wimbledon. Also that the Borg Elite and the Signatures were made out of Kangaroo leather.

You should not Chris from Japan that the gel Enqvist are extremely low cut. i could not handle it and only wore them about a dozen times.

Yeah very low near the ankle felt like i was gonna slip out of them when on the court, of course did not notice this when i tried them on in the shop (go for a little walk down aisle) as if walking down the aisle helps ha. I think they were a 10 1/2 shoe size, they may still be in the cupboard at my parents place, not sure tho.
