Federer: 1% - yes he lost many finals, but as the older gen he shouldn't have been put in that position. Plus denied a bunch. Injuries too.

Nadal: 5% - derailed many slams and also dealt with injuries. But same gen and couldn't stop Novak on HC since 2013.

Murray: 20% - same gen absolute failure

Thiem: 20% - the "prince" turned out to be a mentally weak failure who did nothing and bent over everywhere

Raonic: 3% - not a lot of talent but should have at least done something at Wimbledon, I guess

Dimitrov: 3% - never really had it

Tsonga: 3% - flawed failure

Wawrinka: 0% - enough said

Medvedev: 15% - bent over at AO and will bend over again, didn't even try

Zverev: 12% - absolute choking mug but at least he tried

Tsitsipas: 12% - absolute choking mug but at least he tried

Berrettini: 3% - pathetic player but limited in skill so can't be too harsh

Shapo: 2% - pathetic player but limited in brain so can't be too harsh

might not even equal 100 and I am probably forgetting players

Seriously Zverev in AO, Rafa in RG and Shapo in Wimbledon win was special, he was tired little bit because of last few matches at AO and RG, while in Wimbledon till semi he played non stop.
I still can't believe Shapo didn't win single set in spite of being better player in first two set

Ahahah, maybe it's the stress but I find our salty community of those who don't like Djokovic breaking them records so funny right now. Rooting against Djokovic in Slams?

Fedal 100%, they basically created monster inside Djokovic. They were the reason he kept improving , and when after ample chances they could not keep him down, Djokovic started to believe that he could beat anyone.

I’d also like to blame myself for ever betting against him, as he seems to like to teach me a lesson whenever I do (except RG 2019 lol)
Ah what a day that was.

I think wawrinka is the only guy without any hesitations or fears playing Novak. Just goes out there and unleashes the beast inside. Massive respect!! if not for him novak would’ve already had the CYGS and the outright slam record

Fed 35% for being a choking dog and one of least clutch athletes to ever be in the GOAT conversation.
Nadal 20% for always being injured and being a non factor off clay, and not even being able to stop him on clay.
Next Gen 45% for being absolutely awful in every way.

"I mean, it's happened before - it's not the guy who's never given up in his career. So that's kind of disappointing to see when you have two top guys playing each other and you give up, I mean he gave up against me in Monaco this year... uh last year because of sore throat, yes? I mean, those are kind of things you wonder about. I've only given up basically only once in my career and that came just now in Paris against Blake because I couldn't move because of my back. I think Andy pushed him there, Andy y'know... probably would've ran away anyway with the match... Andy completely deserved the win." - 100%

I'm a Rafa fan. Blame? Don't blame anyone. Novak is a total jackass off the court (making him very hard to root for), but he's clearly the best tennis player around. His game is not as beautiful as Fed's or as brutally powerful as Rafa's. Novak is a boring, relentless backstop (to me). But it's clearly effective.

I'll never ever watch an old match of his on youtube (unless it's a Rafa win) the way I do Rafa, Fed, Borg, Agassi, Pete, Mac, Becker, etc. But who cares? He's won everything more than anyone. He's the GOAT. No need to blame anyone.

100% Federer and Nadal. Both had numerous chances to pigeon Djokovic at 3rd place.

I 100% blame Rafa, especially at Wimbledon 2018 semis, he could've really make a significant dent in Djokovic's confidence long term, he had just come back from losing to Cecchinato, he looked borderline suicidal on the presser afterwards and even said he doubted he would participate in Wimbledon.

Rafa had to listen to the demons in his head that day, closed roof or not he had that match in his racquet, but old demons were stronger.

I 100% believe if Rafa won that match, Djokovic would've taken a significant dump in form and who knows.

He is mentally the best player around. Zverev with his top game today was at a higher level and had he not choked, his game would be enough to defeat Novak.

If Fed was living in Novak’s head to where those decade-old comments mattered, then he would never have been so successful or clutch against him.

Or at least that’s what I believe, the alternative is that Novak has let petty revenge consume and motivate him. For his sake I hope that is not the case, his post-tennis life would likely be very empty and unfulfilled.

Agreed. When Novak is mentally confident and locked in, he's unbeatable ( with the exception of an equally confident and healthy Rafa on clay).

And we all knew Zverev would choke. And Novak would feign an injury. And the sky is blue.

No, I don't agree with this.

Not all of us, unfortunately. I had my heart with Zverev after that 1st set and then he crushed it in the 5th.

I wanted Zverev to win too! With every fiber in my body. But I just knew he wouldn't last once it went to a fifth. Novak simply doesn't get tired and won't let up. He's proven that too many times. And Zverev, other than the gold medal, tends to find ways to lose (see last year's Open)

I have to agree with this. Fed’s unique ability to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory when playing Djokovic over the years made this Djokovic fear nothing (except maybe a pounding from the Stanimal). I still think Fed is the greater player for the sport but Djokovic will OWN the record tables very soon.

How does Rafa get 25% blame? He's the player with the most wins over Djokovic in Slams
He couldn't do anything after 2013 outside clay(2-2 in RG) being in the same age group. You wouldn't expect 34 y.o. ATG to beat a 28 y.o ATG at peak but you'd surely expect a 29 y.o ATG to do that. Rafa never stood up against him in his best years. Be it 2011 or 2015. Novak would've completed Grand slam in 2011 if not for Fed peaking in RG and in 2015, if not for stan. At USO'11 fed took him to 5 sets and held match points. Rafa absolutely gave everything to steal a set. Only thing comes to rafa's side is that he never choked but instead got injured once every year.

The OP reads like an open sore.
A very honest look into the mind of someone who has been watching tennis in the hope that a specific player loses.
I commend the honesty and the transparency.

The Next Gen are bigger chokers. Atleast Federer was past his prime and held MPs. But berrettini,Zverev,Shapo,Tsitsi can't get over the line despite being in their prime.

Only now ? When exactly he should lead them, 2012 ?
He has never led them in number of slams. Total number of slams. Don't talk about slams in a year, that's a stupid and meaningless yardstick. Just be happy your guy is winning. No need to pretend Fedal were overhyped. If they weren't so great, Djokovic wouldn't have had to chase 20 slams.

Only thing that was stupid was overhyping Fedal. Yes they were good, but bcs of your hype, nobody else existed in tennis, everyone else was just not worthy, lousy, lost gen or similar, now you can eat your cake.

Nobody ever said Djokovic himself is not worthy. You are just projecting, lord knows why. Pity that the only way you are able to be happy is to attack other players instead of celebrating what is going to be the crowning glory of Djokovic's career. One thing is for sure: New York has finally learnt to love Djokovic and respect him for the titan that he is. But nobody likes you or other obsessed Djokovic fanatics and that's not going to change after Sunday. So do find something else than hate as your fuel of choice.
