...I figured there were probable a lot of ppl that own Alpha's that would forward the info.
Ya' think there are a lot of people out there with Aplha's that know the difference or can measure the difference between 1/2 inch and 12 mm?

I've been bugging the h*ll out of Mark lately. I'm building a machine. Basically an Equinox with a Wise tension head. There are pic's on another thread. I just need to add an Equinox table & base clamps and I'll have it. It'll be a SWEET unit.

Looks like a nice setup. Do you know if Alpha discontinued all of its electronic machines? Could not find any at http://www.alphatennis.com/Machines.htm
Nah, they've had issues with electronics. They only sell lock out at present. I'm pretty jacked about this set up. The Wise is a pretty accurate tensioner and this combo will be a real quality package for 1/2 the cost of a Star 5 or like machine, just with out the bells & whistles.
I am like you really enjoy my Wise; it has worked flawlessly for me. Wasn’t the Alpha Equinox supposed to compete with the star 5? I kind of wonder about Alpha, couple years back Alpha posted they were taking all their products back in house which does not look appear to be a successful venture.
Since then they have picked up Stringway. More money in re-branding let someone else build the machines and just change out the logo and market them like Gamma and others are doing.
I am actually looking at a Neos, never owned a glide bar machine, but have a pretty good deal working. Major reason, I am tired of 6 point mounting and stringing around obstacles.

Barry, we'll have a new electronic machine called the Odyssey. We have two coming in, one will be on display at the stringers symposium, the other sold. The rest will arrive in November. No need to wonder about us, we're doing alright. Alpha is fine and in great health. Our issue is we need to bolster up our inventory. For the record, we had some hiccups on the Equinox to say the least. It's been shelved for awhile in favor of the Odyssey. Our website will be updated with pics when our full shipment arrives in November.
The extra knobs on the Revo 4000? It really doesn't take that much time to mount a frame really and seldom will they catch string loops. The two-knob systems are nice though. Peace.
It is not only the Revo 4000 which has the crappy mounting system. But most of the low cost machines employ it. I personally will not on another 6 knob machine again and find the majority of upper end machines have moved to Single-action quick mounting. Those of us who have strung on both, and string volume, really see a benefit from the new system. Gamma 2 point mounting system is even faster.
It is hard for me to understand why Single-action quick mounting is not standard on all machines. Seems an economy of scale would win over multiple fabrication of product.
