The manager at the Big Box store where I bought my stringer gave the best of the Star5s to an employee just before I bought mine when they upgraded to Bairados. They don't care they just want them moved out the door.

Congrats. I will be interested on how you like it compared to your prior Neos. If I ever somehow break or tire of my H (hard to imagine either scenario), I would entertain the 1500 but I am very interested how a long time glide bar user likes the switch.

It is at that! Lighter than the 1000 which means more mobile, and easier to dismantle/remantle.

Drakulie has a wonderful, spot on assessment of the difference between a 1000 and a machine with swivel clamps. One of my frames was in need of restringing so as soon as I boxed up my 1000 and assembled my 1500, I put it on the rack. The mounting system on the 1500 is really fantastic. The clamps, while a PITA to begin with, have no drawback and require very little pressure to hold. It's also nice to not have to take a bar off and swap a bar.

I haven't used a glide bar machine in a long time, but i could see its' virtues for sure (i rarely do a fan pattern).

I think you'll like the swivel clamps in short order, nonetheless.
