alpha revo 4000 metal tensioner bar advice

Hi Everyone, I'm looking at a used alpha revo 4000 machine. The seller sent me some photos but I noticed that the metal tensioner bar where the crank sits looks like its bent downwards. If anyone has any experience with this machine, can you tell me if it looks normal? Thanks!

I’m not liking the square tube throat under the turntable that the tension arm is welded or bolted onto (hard to tell if bolted with countersunk bolts from the angle). That’s a definite wrinkle on the RH edge of the square tubing throat, and I’m willing to bet it looks identical on the same opposite side corner, as if something has been dropped on the tension arm and that’s typical of what ‘not so thick wall’ square tubing will do…an impact has to get absorbed somewhere if the weld or bolts don’t give or break. There’s a ding on the top rim on the LH side of the throat as well. I don’t own an Alpha Revo 4000 so take my observation and comment for what it’s worth…just giving you my two pennies concerning the last pic. I simply don’t see how any mfg’r would intentionally roll something like that out the door and right onto retailer shelves for sale.

mine does not look like that but not sure if that means mine is older or newer as I bought it used.

If you zoom in and look real close, you can see the black column that the tension head bar mounts to is damaged. Which, is probably why the bar is angled in that fashion. Not normal.

Thank you everyone for your input!

I see the bend underneath the base, and it doesn't look good to me neither. I'm going to let this machine slide.

Not only the tension bar looks way off, the turntable looks like it is on an angle as well.
Last time I saw a turntable with that much intended at least deflection I was looking at that Stringway ‘Concord’ design turntable I believe it is by name. This thing in the pics here ain’t quite in the intentional by design category.

Just another data point, but I have this exact generation of Revo 4000 and the bar that my tensioner (wise) sits on is not bent downward like in the pictures you posted.

Plus, where the blue paint is, it almost looks as if has been re-welded or what. There's definitely a crack that runs from top to bottom. Good catch on the black square post. Definitely has some damage.

I did not end up buying the stringer but thank you for your input. I'm sure it's going to be useful to someone in the future! :)

Did the seller say anything about how it happened? I have never seen that type of damage before. I’m guessing the it was dropped and landed square on the tension track.

The seller told me that's how it looked like when he bought it. Im not sure if he bought it 2nd hand so... I took his word for it.

I have a brand new one I bought directly from Alpha last week. The metal tensioner bar drops about half a centimeter away from the turntable
