Ok I narowed down to 2 stringers.
Alpha Revo 4000 For $599 and
Gamma Progression St II for $679

I know that The Prgression St II has a Diablo witch Revo 4000 doesnt,
but People say that Revo 4000 has better spring assisted clamps.

So help me out with which machine should I purchase and what one machine has over the other.
Thanks!

For the sake or simplicity, I'll say three things that are better about the Revo 4000: The best customer service, you can upgrade the tensioner to a Wise 8086 (or whatever the number is...), and its $80 bucks cheaper. The only two things that are better on the Progression II: The cone tension gripper is softer on the string and you get a pretty nifty string package for buying it from what I hear.

Thanks, Im not really conserned with the free string since those are gut and multies, and I only use polys.
I dont care about the looks of the machine even thos Gamma looks more apealing, a just want the best bang for the buck.
I want a reliable stringer that will last...
Can u add a wise to the Progression St II?

I have the Revo, so this is not a knock by any means but with the Gamma, there are stands available from the mfr. With the Revo, you have to figure a stand solution on your own.

I'm not sure if the Revo 4000 has better spring assisted clamps. I would say they are equal. The machines are very similar in function and you won't go wrong either way. The $80 difference could be the included tools with the Gamma. Starting clamp, awl, pathfinder awl, pliers, allen wrenches: Bought separately are worth a lot more than $80.

And Bret (Gamma Tech) is about as helpful as they come. He has always e-mailed me immediately for any little question I had about my Gamma.

You can add a Wise to the Gamma, but you need an adaptor ($40) from Herb.

Do you have gamma techs email?
and a litle of topic since Im new to this forum I cant send Private Messages or there is no such thing as PM on this forum?

^ out of curiosity did the revo come with the calibrator and the starting clamp?
and did u buy it from TW?

Mine came with the calibrator but not the starting clamp because I already had one. When I spoke with Mark to place my order, he let me customize my "free package". I'm sure he'd let you do the same. Of course if you order through TW, you may get the generic package.

Here is Gamma's # ask for Brett: 1-800-333-0337

On these forums, do a search for the user Gamma Tech, and you can pm him there.

I have had the same experience as LttlElvis with Gamma. Bret has answered a question or two of mine very quickly on these boards.

I bought the Gamma X-ST 6 months ago and have been really happy with it. It is pretty similar to the Gamma Progression ST II. I ended up buying the stand and cover about a month later.

Ok Thank You guys.
I placed an order for the Revo 4000 today and they also let me customize the package, and gave me some extra freebies.
So Im waiting for the Revo to arrive around Monday
