Alternative to Diadora Speed Star K Ace?

I need to find an alternative to the Diadora Speed Star K Ace. I’m on my last pair after stocking up two years ago. They’re a heavier shoe but I like the stability, low to the ground and wide toe box to accommodate Cadence insole with metatarsal pad attached. Considering the Diadora Speed Blueshield Torneo, Diadora Blueshield Fly and K-Swiss Hypercourt Extreme.

Torneo less breathable

Fly is narrower

That shoe you are replacing is both wide and breathable so it's not that easy to replace

I really wish they'd bring back the Speed Star K III through the Elite. Best shoes ever but narrower lasts and more plastic makes the new stuff cheaper to produce :(
I still have 8 pairs of the white\navy Speed Star K Elite new in the box in my closet.

Hi LoanStar,

Just seeing your post after asking the same question in the TW Questions/Comments forum. There Michelle answered me as follows: "I also LOVED the Speed Star K and find the Torneo 2 to be a good alternative." Sic erat scriptum :)

Thanks! A few weeks ago I bought a pair (the new black/white), but am recovering from an injury so haven’t had a chance to put them to the test. Just trying them on though with my Cadence insole I sense they’re going to work.

I've played several matches with the Diadora Speed Blueshield Torneo 2 and like them as much, if not better than the Speed Star K. While they're virtually the same weight the Torneo 2 feels lighter on my feet. My Cadence insoles fit and my feet feel locked in without being tight. Lateral stability is good and cushioning is superior to the K without feeling squishy. Initially I had some heel lift, but lacing to the very top took care of it. Plan to buy another pair(s) when I see a price break.

If you have time, plz post after you have the chance to try them-- I'm inching in the direction of giving them a shot.
I don't know if you live in a country where the stores have a friendly return policy but if you are looking for wide and cushioned, the 2022 colorways of the FILA SpeedServe Energized also fits the bill
