Alternative to Pro Hurricane Tour x NXT 16

So I put Pro Hurricane Tour 16 (mains, 54lbs) with NXT 16 (crosses, 58lbs) and absolutely loved the feel but the NXT broke much earlier than I expected. Then I was recommended Technifibre NRG2 16, which I hybrided again with PHT. It was much more durable, but I miss the softer but 'snap' feeling I had with NXT (hopefully I'm making sense). Any recommendations?

I've been hearing good things about KGut here, but it looks a bit expensive. Also thinking of trying ALU Power 16 instead of PHT, how does it compare?

The Alu Power will give you a little more spin, though it may be a little stiffer. Overall I prefer it, but everyone is different. For the crosses maybe Kgut Pro, it will last much longer than either NRG or NXT.

Hmm, what's the difference between Tour/Pro versions with the non- versions? (like NXT and KGut) Also, how does x-one biphase compare to all of these? I guess I'm just exploding with questions...

I am a PHT user and I am giving Lux Alu Rough a shot.

PHT mixed with sensation is a VERY good combo, that i have used in the past, it has plenty of spin potential and is durable.

try using x one biphase. it is more durable than nrg2 and has a more crispy feel

If you can't afford gut, the top multi's are nxt, x-one biphase, kgut, nrg2

Hmm, so I narrowed it down to kgut pro and x-one biphase. I guess by now, it's just up for me to playtest them... Just hoping they would feel like NXT but last longer...

No editing here? Wondering, is putting ALU Rough in there gonna make the crosses last shorter because of the texture?

I think a good similar alternative would be Signum hyperion (1.24) mains with Wilson (16g) sensation crosses. A lot cheaper aswell. Maby a little more power and softness compared to your setup.

The Kgut Pro is going to be firmer and last longer than the Kgut. NTX tour is going to be softer and not last as long as the NXT. Hope that helps.

I have used pht/nxt hybrid and agree it is a sweet combo I am also still looking for a more durable cross that plays as well as nxt.To date i have tried nrg2,maxim touch,isospeed control,nxt tour and klip legend natural gut. In my opinion all the multfillaments i listed played well with isospeed being closest to nxt however as far as cost per restring the klip nat gut works out better as it lasts 3-4 times longer and plays even better than nxt hope this helps.
