ALU Rough vs Tier One Strike Force RIP

Compared to ALU Rough, the Strike Force is softer, more muted, similar spin production, not quite as controlled, but still very good control. Strike Force turns into a trampoline after 2-3 tough sets of singles for me or about 2 or 3 easy/fun doubles matches. Unfortunately, I find the Strike Force really just bags out, like it suddenly starts losing all control and crisp feel, although spin production stays pretty good. With ALU, it loses it's magic feeling for me in about 1-2 hours, but then th feel changes, and it plays "okay" for another 5, dying a slow death. I really like the Tier One Strings, but they all suddenly turn into trampolines after a few hours for me, except the thicker gauge Firewire, but the spin on that one is too crazy and unpredictable for me! Strike Force is really very good for 3 hours, it does have that "Plasticky" Cheap feel, and the strings do not stay straight at all! However, it doesn't seem to affect the control that I could really notice.

That is a good summary of my thoughts on strikeforce as well. Have it in right now off the demo sample. Probably strung it too low at 50lbs, it still feels loose and it doesn't generate enough spin for what I need.

It is comfortable though, so no complaints there. Have it side by side with cyclone, and the Cyclone is noticeably more predictable with tighter spin.

Thanks @DrumWizOHBD and @emhtennis for sharing your experiences. I've used StrikeForce for a couple of years strung in the upper 50s, lower 60s as a cross for FireWire and as mains in a few other hybrid setups. Yeah, they don't keep other strings in a hybrid straight in the string bed because of the deep cuts to form its texture.
