Hope she skips the drugs!Anisimova is only 17 years old too! She is becoming the new gen Maria Sharapova!
We are not stopping until the final!Welcome aboard! Next stop: Halep.
No seriously Amanda, next: stop Halep!
Anisimova is only 17 years old too! She is becoming the new gen Maria Sharapova!
Maria was all serve but this girl is more than that, she moves like venus Williams, maybe faster
but I really miss that grunts and screeching of Maria, it was so beautiful. How do we get Amanda to do that same thing ? should I tweet her ?And she doesn't take half an hour to do her makeup and fuss with her hair before she serves.![]()
lookin' good in her bid for a maiden slam quarterfinal, wins the first set 6–3 against Bolsova. An abundance of winners, confident play behind serve, but much like yesterday the glaring weakness is her erraticism on return.
edit: 3–0 in the second set as well now, 25 winners to 8. Savage.
I still think she needs to shaping up her forehand. Backhand is world-class, FH not so much.
Move well and I think she got a really long legs? Almost like Venus
guys she's 17
It's creepy to drool over an underage girl. What's that got to do with her legs or the fact that she doesn't grunt/shriek?

Cringe. We don't need to read your fantasies - maybe go to some creepy forums elsewhere. My dad did a lot more than drool over my mom when she was 17!
He married her and the rest is history.
Besides, in two months Amanda will be officially drool-able.![]()
My humble suggestion is we keep the thread tennis-related and free of potential controversy
For the record, I don't think anything particularly repulsive was said (saw similar things from adult women about FAA before he turned 18, without any backlash), but better to just stay out of those waters in the first place.

So. Any expectations w/r/t the upcoming match against Halep? I don't think it's the worst match-up for Anisimova as she at least won't be blasted off the court and will get the time to set up some of her shotmaking. That said, I expect Halep to expose her court coverage and grinding abilities, and she also won't be able to be nearly as comfortable behind serve as she has been. The goal should be to do better than Swiatek![]()
Tell that to Nick.Cringe. We don't need to read your fantasies - maybe go to some creepy forums elsewhere.

I haven't been able to watch this FO (thanks ttc) but in general I'm surprised Amanda does not get more buzz.
She has had some good results despite being so young and more importantly looks like an absolute killer on the court. She has such a good mentality.
Again, haven't seen her or Halep play this event, but I think the latter should win pretty handily. That said, Amanda is the real deal.
Needs to develop several aspects of her game, of course, but her attitude alone should net her a major or two.
or a goddess or a queenGuessing she isn't a mother yet.

That's disgusting!
How could you say that?
She's only 17!
Totally creepy.

In the old old days of monarchs and kings, girls used to get married at 13... Thank goodness, we don't do that anymoreThat's disgusting!

calm down its a slam on Serena who said how hard it is being her and the world has decided she is the best ever because she is the only mother to every play and win a tennis match. Right she isnt but she thinks she is.
I have never seen her look nervous nor have I ever seen her really celebrate a match win or a good point, particularly on these stages. She barely reacted to winning her first title in Bogota. Reminds me of Davydenko a bit. What did you mean by that?

To me that's quite a bit different than looking "like an absolute killer on the court".
To me that is the definition of "killer instinct," having an unflappable on court demeanor.
Some of the comments objecting to the "drooling" are hilarious. There is no appreciable difference in appearance between a woman the day before her 18th birthday and the day after, and that's all drooling is (a reflex in response to some stimulus.) By all accounts, any appreciation of Amanda Anisimova's appearance shouldn't arouse animadversion. She is a very attractive girl, and I am saying this as I camp under a lofty tent.

Kill instinct has everything to do with composure. No those are two completely different things.
Killer instinct has nothing whatsoever to do with looks.
When you have killer instinct you know when and how to move in to make the kill.
I'm a big fan of Amanda!
She's got game and great looks too.
The only thing I don't get is why she pouts and looks upset even when she's winning?
I hope she goes really far in her career and also at the F.O.!
So many quality players on the WTA tour at the moment.
if she beats halep, she will win the French open.
