For the record, I don't think anything particularly repulsive was said (saw similar things from adult women about FAA before he turned 18, without any outrage), but better to just stay out of those waters in the first place.

I don't think it's the worst match-up for Anisimova as she at least won't be blasted off the court and will get the time to set up some of her shotmaking. That said, I expect Halep to expose her court coverage and grinding abilities, and she also won't be able to be nearly as comfortable behind serve as she has been. The goal should be to do better than Swiatek

Amanda's clay result is a bit up and down. Lost to nobody but win a title. Halep should prevail but at least I expect Amanda to do some more damage than Iga.

I haven't been able to watch this FO (thanks ttc) but in general I'm surprised Amanda does not get more buzz.
She has had some good results despite being so young and more importantly looks like an absolute killer on the court. She has such a good mentality.
Again, haven't seen her or Halep play this event, but I think the latter should win pretty handily. That said, Amanda is the real deal.
Needs to develop several aspects of her game, of course, but her attitude alone should net her a major or two.

Word coming from her camp is that Amanda hasn't even been training at full pace because her parents don't want to put too much stress on her body. right now, she is still growing and training at full intensity would put too much stress on her body and joints and would be a bad idea from what the experts are saying. So just imagine how good she will be when she starts to train like WTA players usually do.

I have never seen her look nervous nor have I ever seen her really celebrate a match win or a good point, particularly on these stages. She barely reacted to winning her first title in Bogota. Reminds me of Davydenko a bit.

OK. I agree with you on that.
To me that's quite a bit different than looking "like an absolute killer on the court".
She just doesn't show her emotions much which is perfectly fine with me. I prefer players like that.
And she's quiet too when she strikes the ball.

Killer instinct has nothing whatsoever to do with looks.
When you have killer instinct you know when and how to move in to make the kill.
