Amanda Anisimova Thread [insert hype & puns of choice]

Sometimes a break can do a lot of good. Time will tell, but just glad she is going to give it another shot.
I think a lot depends on her fitness. As she got a little older, she seemed to keep growing and maturing to the point that her movement wasn't as fast and fluid as it was when she was younger and physically smaller. If she put in a lot of fitness work during the break, I think she can have a chance at regaining form. I don't think her tennis skills were ever her problem.

When she was about 17, my son who was about 12 at the time, asked her if she had a boyfriend as a joke when she was signing an autograph. She cracked up and was a good sport.

There must be something extremely wrong with Amanda Anisimova's personality or character, as she CHOSE to be on the same court as Nick Kyrios.
Usually the only people around him, are forced to be there because they're drawn to play him, or that doofus Kokkinakis.
So I'm very suspicious of her.

So first you complain that nobody is posting (in some of the WTA event threads), and then you complain that I post too much? Um, Ok...

Took you 5 days to come back with that? Good job.
Yeah, I didn't notice you replied. But what's your deal? Seriously, have I ever directly some sort of personal criticism at you? What's your beef with me? I'm posting too much in WTA 250 threads that are all but dead? I thought we are supposed to come here to BS about tennis? No wonder there are quite a few people who don't seem to value your contributions...

Plays Carle in around 90 minutes.

Is the dark hair dyed? Or was she previously a bottle blonde and just decided to go natural? I imagine the latter, but I don't know for sure.
Well, she was blonde 10 years ago, so unless she's been dying since age 13, I think she's naturally a blonde.

I honestly can't decide if I really like Anisimova, or can't stand her.

Sometimes she seems sweet and charming, and I want to support her given all the stuff she has gone through.

Other times she comes off as super arrogant and vapid, and I feel like someone else deserves it more than her.

Talented player, big-time game with some decent touch as well, modern forehand. Carries herself well.

I reckon she'll make a steep climb this year, establishing herself among the tour level players and making some noise on the big stage.

Currently ranked 96 and into the quarterfinals of Auckland, having routined the solid Strycova in the previous round.

Feel free to follow and/or chronicle her journey toward the top here.

Disclaimer: Could not think of worthwhile/lame puns and hype words in the title, which are of course obligatory in player threads, so you will have to imagine them.
