An apology to Rafael Nadal Parera

He's not the first one to reply to me and ask me this out of nowhere lol. Not only I don't see what that has to do with me but I don't see what's wrong and triggering about this humourous nickname used by some Djoko fans when they're enthusiastic about his performances.

He beats their favorites, so of course anything that is meant to be positive, no matter how humorous, and colorfully over the top, grates. So a few just can't help themselves, and need to respond. But for me now, soon as I see it, onto my ignore list for good you go. If you cannot even see that for what it is, I don't have time to acknowledge your presence here anymore. It's just boring to me now. Anyways, that is enough of that, those that get it, get it and its for those folks. ;) :giggle: Oh am I going to still keeping doing it. :D

Would you say that he's............. "epic af?"

God those shorts were horrid though. Cant believe Nike made something so ugly.

I take it you also want to go onto my ignore list, sure thing buddy. And here we were having decent conversation these past few days, where I was trying to instill some faith in you about your guy having more than a fighting chance against Djokovic in that quarters. So it shall be my good friend, peace. Nothing personal, you are still cool, I just have zero tolerance to reading the same tired response to threads which are meant to be hyperbole over the top comic book stuff. Seeya ;) (y)

@Spencer Gore - I get your thread, and nothing wrong with it.
Thank you, Hitman. I sometimes worry that the youngers have lost all appreciation for the sublimely ridiculous.

I agree, but Djokovic looked so incredibly passive vs. Diego, that its on Nadal's racquet and it appears Nadal's racquet is too error-prone this week..... so Djokovic in 4 :happydevil:
Nadal has a colossal mental edge over anyone he plays at Roland Garros, so I'm quite certain Nadal will beat Alcaraz in the SF, but I think Djokovic will beat Nadal :happydevil:
If Nadal beats Djokovic then it means Nadal is no longer making the uncharacteristic errors that have plagued him recently. But I'm assuming those errors will continue.....
Yes, considering Djokovic has won only ONE of their last SIX clay meetings, I do feel kind of stupid predicting Djokovic to win this. But being stupid is fun :happydevil:
Even though I don't think Nadal will win, and I predict a Djokovic victory, I just hope we see another 5-0 start (2020RG Nadal won the 1st Set 6-0, and 2021RG Nadal led 5-0 in the 1st Set), because that is a tremendous experience and will give me the thrill of Nadal appearing to be the victor :happydevil:
If Nadal wins I will be celebrating ferociously for the next 80 or 90 years :happydevil:
This was the first time I'd ever predicted against Nadal..... and I enjoyed it so much, I'm going to try and tip against Nadal as much as possible from now on.

By tipping against Nadal it allowed me to relax more and enjoy the match without worrying about needing a Nadal victory to prove me correct.
And there was no chance of me ever wanting Djokovic to win, even after I repeatedly said Djokovic would win, so it evened out and made the match a lot of fun to watch.

Now in the leadup to Nadal-Zverev SF, I've said Nadal will win it..... but I'll try to convince myself that Zverev will win, even though its very hard to explain how..... because in order for Zverev to win it'd mean Nadal would have to go back to being error-prone like he was vs. Felix..... but Nadal's form always improves during Roland Garros, so I don't see why his form would reverse :happydevil:

Dear Rafa,

I owe you an apology. I have been a devoted fan from early in your career. I have defended you many times on various forums from the unfair attacks from the Federer fanatics who refused to acknowledge your greatness. But even I doubted you could defeat Djokovic yesterday. I had written off your chances as soon as the draw was made. In truth, I feared it may turn out to be a beatdown. To my shame, I chose not to watch as I didn't want to witness it. Only when I could bear it no longer did I start watching -at the start of the fourth set. I'm so glad I did as I saw one of the greatest performances of your career. I will never doubt you again. Your record total of slams and dominance of your two biggest rivals on the biggest stages should have made me wiser than to doubt you, at all. Please forgive me.

Your humble admirer,

Nadal just Skyped me with tears in his eyes and he said your apology means a lot to him. Now he can sleep at night without being tormented by your intolerable lack of faith.

The universe is in harmony now.

Now you understand why StrongRule does what he does.

I thought it would be a tougher match than it was, but never thought he was the underdog. Maybe 50-50, but certainly knew he had a real chance, barring injury. I know Djokovic is a beast, a formidable opponent, you could say he is the GOAT even. But dismissing Nadal on clay as an underdog does not make any sense.

Look, I can understand it. But I'd argue that your initial instincts are correct. Now is the right time to be suspectful of Rafa's prospects. He's 36 tomorrow, his foot is messed up. You saw how he limped off in Rome. Rafa's career will end the same way as Federer's and most other players' careers end- badly on the court (unless he retires imminently). That is just how it is. Now is not the time to say 'I'll never doubt him again', It's 'I don't think he can keep playing like this for much longer' .

Well if its true that Nadal had an anaesthetic in his foot while beating Djokovic - - there is no chance Djokovic will ever be considered a GOAT contender.
Nadal is the one and only greatest player of all-time :happydevil:

Definitely a surprise after last year's SF.

Even last year Nadal had started strongly but Djokovic also raised his level to win the second set. Third set could have gone either way. And again Nadal broke early in the fourth set. Then something happened to him, maybe the foot or he just ran out of gas. At the time I thought he was just gassed. And then Djokovic ran away with the match.

For me, it was never that I doubted he could win, just that it was not such a clear and foregone conclusion he would. The margins are closer overall, so it is a different confidence I think. Even Nadal's boiler plate talk shows less confidence so not suprirsing fans are not as sure. I think most still beleive he can win though. At least for me that hasn't changed. And I certainly do not bet against him.

I won't hear the foot excuse. You're better off telling me the IDF did 9/11 at this point.

Dude just dusted the greatest all-around player of all time and you're all still talking about his foot. Do you hear yourselves

I explained what happened last year because you brought it up yourself, genius. That's not an excuse. I'm not even sure myself if it was because of his foot or he was just not fit enough to hang with Novak. Either way, Novak won that match. Nothing changes it.

This thread has the makings of legendary stuff. One to look back at for centuries!
From Spencer Gore to Rafael Nadal there is a host of champions that transcends time.
There is no such a thing called GOAT but there are some chosen ones who are IMMORTAL.
Nadal is at the highest peak and he still wants to continue breaking barriers that take him even beyond the limits.
