An exceptionally good match of tennis by the warrior :- 2020 French Open Final

What did you believe before the match? Answer honestly please.

  • Picked Nadal as favorite but expected a tighter scoreline

  • Picked Nadal as Favorite and expected this beatdown to happen

  • Picked Djokovic as Favorite with an easy scoreline

  • Picked Djokovic as Favorite with a tight battle

  • Pretty neutral, but expected an easy win for either

  • Pretty neutral, but expected a close combat like past encounters

Nadal fan. I had Djokovic as favorite based on his form throughout the year, versus Nadal's botched preparation and Rome woes.

I also thought the slow conditions would help Djokovic as they did in 2012.

I decided not to give much mind to their performance against inferior players in the same tournament, since that's been a poor indicator with those two in the past.

I had it pegged as a close match. Thought Djokovic might win by attrition. If Nadal won, I expected it to be a relatively quick blitz (which it was).

To me, results from most to least likely to me were Djokovic in 4-5, Nadal in 3-4, Nadal in 5, Djokovic in 3.

I don't think Djokovic truly like slow surfaces these days.

I thought Djokovic had a chance until his match against Tsitsipas. Conditions helped Bull a lot as the court was too slow to hit through him.

was expecting bull to win in 4. didn't watch the first set. When I tuned in, I was like wow  and then watched rafa beatdown novak in the second and a tight set in the third to finish it. Rafa choked a little in the end but recovered to finish the game.

I mean he came from winning an autumn edition of Rome which wasn't exactly fast, and had just waltzed into the finals of the slowest RG ever

And also, even if it backfired in the final, that dropshot was clearly brought out for the occasion and served him well in the earlier rounds.

I am on record here where i posted a thread saying Nadal will want Djokovic in final. Expected Nadal to straight set him but not get a bagel. Thought would be 7-6 6-3 6-1 or similar.
I had been saying and keep saying it that Djokovic is made for Nadal now on any surface over 5 sets that is not playing fast. Djokovic has stamina issues and Nadal is still a physical nightmare in matches where courts are slower.
Also with so much hype around the match and history on the line i knew Nadal would cope better mentally. He always does. Add in Team Djokovic mouthing off and it was always going to be a humiliation.

I mean, that Rome title was the easiest ever.
