Hello :)

Today Tennis has a lot of comfort, luxury and helpful technologies.

However his level weakens from year to year, and it seems that this may be due to the fact that players go to the net less and less!!!

Paradoxically, thanks to technology, players can finish balls from deep inside the court, without going to the net...

It looks as if they only cared about winning the ball so as not to go to the net, because at the net you can get a passing shot, a lob or a miss...

The problem is that we learn to play in such a way that our tennis is not full - there is no All Court game, we play half-way, we play with less risk, no madness, etc.

Both players shoot from deep within the court, hoping to shoot one more ball, and this often creates long rallies.

And it's like in boxing, two fighters withstand each other's punches, but neither of them knocks out his opponent, the quality of their punches is poor!!!

Playing at the net gives you a much greater chance of finishing a point and keeping the pressure on your opponent than playing from deep inside the court..(Serve and voley is more spectacular)

Playing from deep within the court also has its beauty, but the lack of net play makes tennis less spectacular and mediocre.

I know that it may be more and more difficult to resurrect the game of serve and volley at the net, but it could make tennis a Big Show!!!.

Do you often watch tennis ? This was probably the case 10 years ago but these past few years, players are coming more often to the net. Alcaraz for example is coming a lot, Rune also, maybe too much sometimes, Djokovic has improved a lot in this field etc

Even Jannik Sinner is coming into the net.

watch this often, there are many matches where there is 1-5 action at the net heh.
More than 10 actions for success

Players quite often avoid playing at the net, as if they were afraid of this area of the court?!?!

In addition, the balls now return to the players so quickly that it is difficult to find the right moment to go to the net.

In the past, when tennis was slower, you could run to the net, but now you have to know exactly when to go so as not to get hit with a counterattack...

I watched the ATP finals final between Djokovic vs Sinner, did Jannik take any risk with Djokovic?!..

First he won a match against him during the tournament, and then he gave up the victory without a fight, he didn't even take any risk.

He only played from the depth of the court with a wall man, without going to the net to scare him, etc., and there was little play in the kill zone either..

Playing predictable tennis with Novak is pointless...

It used to be that almost all players practically went to the net, and now most players are stuck on the end line and shooting ha ha

Nole won USO this year by coming to the net, because Medvedev stood a mile behind the baseline.

Top players play what works. Or rather, it's because they play effective strategies that they are top players to begin with.

If rushing the net were a viable strategy across the various conditions and opponents existing today, we'd see it more.

Instead it's a niche tactic, mostly seen as a finisher on slow courts, as a proactive game plan on faster courts, by uniquely gifted players or against uniquely vulnerable opponents.

A 24yo Stefan Edberg would school these guys.

(except for Novak)

I am not that knowledgeable about tennis tactics stuff but I am sure I can correct this: volleyers flourish on fast court not slow court.

Oh by the way, I like your boxing analogy. Just, finishing with volley is not as easy as you seem to suggest.

Med is the only one who is not letting go of the baseline.
But question is, if you come frequently to the net, how many passing shots you can survive ?

the point is that the ball is so fast that before you reach the net, the player may attack on a counterattack. heh

And then the players lose their minds and are afraid to go to the net, or they go when they are 100% sure that they will win.

In the times of wooden rackets, players had weak power, so it was much more profitable to go to the net, there are videos on the Internet of one player playing with a wooden racket and the other with a modern one, and after watching the conclusions are obvious ;)

If so, I approve, Novak usually plays from deep inside the court.

Now I don't expect serve and volley to magically return.

Just so that playing at the net becomes something important and profitable again, and not just out of necessity and without pleasure.

Somehow Dustin Brown managed to beat Rafael Nadal at Wimbledon, and for me it was a demonstration of the art of serve and volley.:)

I want to maintain a healthy balance between the serve and volley game and the game on the end line, this is the only way to create a player who can play on the all court. ;)
