It's not going to have a dream final like that did, so I don't know that I see it passing it, but it's definitely the best second week any major has had since that one.Wonderful day off tennis best since AO 2017. We still need a great ending though for this event pass AO 2017.
Pair of great 5 setters at this stage in a major is rare, especially on the same day. Thoughts on them? Compare and contrast? Preference/

How did you manage to watch that match. I need time to recover when my favourite player loses. At least a few days.Weren't you saying that grass is boring, grass field sucks and Wimbledon should have switched to HC? Quite a sudden change as soon as Fed is out for some people.
Anyway, Fed-Anderson was great serving and great drama but not really high quality in other areas of the game. Nadal-Delpo on the other hand was a classic, best WImbledon match I've seen in years. It had it all, the great shotmaking, the momentum shifts, the emotion from both players (almost felt like a DC match in that regard), the tactical adjustments especially from Nadal when he started using the net and dropshots after going down 2-1 etc.
Umm, I never said that it should be switched to hard courts, what the hell? I joked that I was surprised the players haven't demanded that happen yet.Weren't you saying that grass is boring, grass field sucks and Wimbledon should have switched to HC? hope w/e it is you get better soonWell I've been almost bedridden the last few days (nothing serious) so any tennis is welcome, I likely won't be able to watch much tennis later in the year (don't expect to have much free time) so again I'll watch any tennis available. Another thing is I never expected Fed to be even playing at 36-37 let alone still contending for the biggest titles so while I'm still sad when he loses I get over the losses more quickly. It has been one hell of a ride being his fan since 2001.
Also most importantly, Nadal-Delpo was a very entertaining match. I was rooting for Delpo but Nadal still amazed me on many points, definitely showcased more dimensions of his game than he usually does. I have my biases definitely but I always appreciate great tennis.

Federer definitely let his slip away (no real excuse for not closing out a match on match point after being up 2 sets and a break). Kudos to Anderson though for taking advantage of Fed's carelessness and punishing him in the only way appropriate.
Nadal-Del Potro felt like much more a match of equals where it could have gone either way almost from the start. You never knew until the very last point was struck who would emerge the vistor.
He got broken once. After 5-5. Had a MP on Kevin's serve and BP after he got broken.wait he was up a break as well? he got broken twice in the 3rd set? mofo
oh okay OP said that fed was 2 sets and up a break . unless he was up a break in the 4th, i missed a bit of that setHe got broken once. After 5-5. Had a MP on Kevin's serve and BP after he got broken.
He didn't break after the second set. Had just BPs that he couldn't convert.oh okay OP said that fed was 2 sets and up a break . unless he was up a break in the 4th, i missed a bit of that set

He injured himself in the 2nd set.You make it sound like those are bad things!
PS. What Federer injury?
good luck with those backhand crosscourt rallies with Djokovic-by a salty Fed fanboy
Came out of the shadows to comment that today was cool
Lolz, I did the same. I kept checking on Fed's scores and it was so annoying. The cherry on top was Rafa trolling me until the end of the work day as well. Terrible day. Hopefully Novak wins on Friday!Peeking at the google live scores every now and then while at work, sucked big time, especially following the 5th set of Fed/Anderson. I envy you, Nadal/Delpo sounded like real fun.
I can't find any source for this.He injured himself in the 2nd set.
Your eyes should be your source. One poster described it perfectly earlier in the match thread.I can't find any source for this.
Missed it. I woke up in the middle of set three, and I planned to watch the whole thing tonight. But I figured I'd watch Fed take it. All he needed was on break. Then I could not stop watching and was almost late to work.Your eyes should be your source. One poster described it perfectly earlier in the match thread.
When Rafa beats Nole you'll say that he is not 100% back .good luck with those backhand crosscourt rallies with Djokovic

His knee. His movement was off.Missed it. I woke up in the middle of set three, and I planned to watch the whole thing tonight. But I figured I'd watch Fed take it. All he needed was on break. Then I could not stop watching and was almost late to work.
At the time I started watching I heard more grunting than I've ever heard from Fed. What did he injure?
I'm not going to watch the first 2 sets now. It's too depressing.
I mean this friday.lol
go bet on Nadal and make your millions, he's the underdog
If you are right, that's really bad news. Same knee? I thought he looked horrible from the time I started watching, and I saw nothing pointing to that earlier in the tournament. He just did not look like the same player. Has he confirmed your suspicion? His knee. His movement was off.
I don't think it will affect him longterm but it's a wasted opportunity. He should've played Isner in the SF and would've had a 50/50 chance in the final. If you are right, that's really bad news. nadal delpo match made me like watching wimbledon again.... the slips, the intensity, forehand winners... thats tennis entertainment at its best.....fed anderson match, there were a lot of aces hahahahaa...
Ah, that's not fair! The amazing thing about the match was that when they got into rallies it was Federer who was folding and not Anderson! Fed's defense was on point, he extended rallies, and Kev just kept on living with him.Not much you can do when a big guy like Neo is murdering the ball and not willing to trade 4-5 stroke rallies.
