Andre Agassi and Pete Sampras gone...

I was just thinking tonight about all the great Pete and Andre matches I watched, all the great points. It's just now hit me that they are both gone. Pete was as a big part of Andre's career and Andre was a big part of Pete's career. I never felt Pete was completely gone because Agassi was still going strong taking some of Pete with him where ever he went, but now that Andre Kirk Agassi has officially retired it's like they have both walked together into the box of tennis past and greatness with lock and key, I now have an undescribable emptiness.

I agree... When Rafter retired, i thought to myself
"I'm never going to watch another match where a S&V is going to relentlessly attack the net, and the baseliner relentlessly defend the baseline"
(Yeah Pete was a S&V too, but he wasnt as relentless as Rafter)

Such contrast was so much fun to watch, now we only have Federer, giving us a magic trick every once in a while. And Safin, playing like God every once in a while...

I don't think people actually realize what has happened. It's like going to a museum and looking at everything, you can't absorb it in all at once. It's only later you start thinking about what you saw, thinking about it, looking it up and reading more into it.
