Andre Agassi: The GOAT doesn't exist, but if he does, it's more Nadal than Federer!

He also knows if Rafa gets beat by players ranked outside the top 100 and cannot make it past the fourth round at W, or loses matches to Fognini while being two sets up, to Pouille, and gets wooden spoon courtesy of Verdasco...Nadal will remain the superior player between the two.

How many matches at RG? 7
How many combined at the other three slams? 6

Are you sure you don't want some bubbly? :p:D You should get the first glass. LOL!

Agassi has been all empty noise over the last year with only Eastbourne title to show.

Marian Vajda , being quiet, achieved plenty more with Novak .

Agassi does not have to look far to learn.

I'm just teasing her. :D It's our little shtick.

But on another note, it is funny how H2H all of sudden became only slam H2H matters, the moment Djokovic took the lead against Nadal. :p

Unfortunately for us Nole fans, Andre the math genius Agassi only sees 9>4.:( I have a bubbly ready since Novak turned pro, 9>4 forbids me from drinking it:(

Rafa already has a restaurant with Enrique. He said the only way he will open a new one will be when someone beats him 9 times at majors.:(

We’ll go on a date once Nole reverses that damn 9>4. :)

Though even I think Djokovic is not the GOAT, rather it's the most boring answer: Rod Laver

    Agassi says stupid crap sometimes.

No great player can be expected to beat a younger great player if primes don't overlap. 5 years is a big deal. Lendl won like 12 of the last matches against Connors. I believe 7 year difference for them.

Then he of all people goes on to ignore surfaces? Fed leads off clay despite half of matches being after his prime.

His choking against Sampras was justified according to him because he's GOAT. Was a huge Agassi fan growing up but talks too much.

And let’s hope when Rafa actually meets Nole at the majors it doesn’t become like the 9 times before. Please Nole, I know you waited 10 years to beat Rafa at RG but it’s possible:p

Lets hope for a couple of AO showdowns, hopefully a fourth round encounter next Jan. We know that despite having an additional day's rest, and kicking back and watching Djokovic play for over 5 hours of bruising tennis against Murray, Nadal still couldn't put away a severely weakened Djokovic, and he had six hours to do it. A fourth round match would do nicely...then I hope Djokovic loses enough points to be ranked outside the top 100 at Wimbledon...no way Rafa can duck him then! :p

Don't let me down boys, I got the girl to say yes! ;)

Still the h2h talk after Roger just beat Rafa 5 times in a row?

And BGod is right, Federer is so much older than Djokovic and Nadal that the fact that the h2hs are as close as they are only reflects well on him.

Connors actually lead the h2h against Lendl 13-6 in mid 1984 but then went on to lose each of their final 17 matches to end up 13-22.

It is the VB trying their best to deflect Rafa's 6 consecutive losses to 36 year Fed.

Interesting translation back to English. I doubt Andre used the world "churlish". lol...and if he did I can't take his argument seriously.

    Corrected that for you. :D

It's 17, actually. Connors was leading comfortably (13-5, he had won the first 8), then Lendl won their last 17 meetings to end the series at 22-13.

It's especially funny when you remember that he always beat Sampras at AO but always lost to him at USO and Wimbledon. Sure that surfaces don't count, Andre? ;)

I don’t know about you, but what if it becomes 10>4? We will never go on a date.:(I mean it took him 6 hours to beat a one-legged Rafa with massive mental problems in 2012.:( We shouldn’t worry about every Tom Dick and Harry beating Rafa at wimby because against Nole it’s a different ballgame, that’s why it’s 9-4 and not 14-0. I’m still hoping for that date though:p

Obviously he is right, Nadal is the real GOAT.

Nadal remains only the third greatest of all time at present, with some way to go to match Federer, the GOAT.

Not at a Major where the bounce favours Nadal. Federer did look like he tanked to avoid Nadal at USO, and seemed to confirm that in the pressers afterwards with some bizarre remarks. Only way Federer will show he has solved the Nadal puzzle is to beat him at the FO and/or USO. AO this year was like an indoor court it was so low which is why three of the 4 semi finalists had one handed backhands. Will it be as slow next year. Be interesting to see.

Nadal 2017 is also quite similar to Agassi's 1999 season, where he posted the most consistent results overall but wasn't the "best" player on tour, which was still Sampras who ended the year at 3.

you mean with Nadal having the best year at the slams and ending the year the #1 player in the world???

I say this year turned out just fine for Nadal fans!

but please, you and your ilk can go ahead and think otherwise.

Nadal held a winning record against all the other 3 of the B4 for years and he wasn't considered the GOAT then by many.
