Andreescu: Superstar in progress

She's like a far different player than the one who won a major. Not a trace of that game to be seen, so her loss is not even an upset.
And you have determined that in the five sets she played in the AO?? The game is there, sames groundies, she just needs more matches and had an opponent that is a nightmare to play.

Did you watch her out there? It usually only takes the course of a single match to see it someone is on their game, and if they're not. This also applied to Kerber and Vika--both were just not in their best form by any stretch of the imagination, which is why they could not even rely on experience to slip by with a win.

Duh!!!
We are agreeing with you.
We know her game is off.
What do you expect from 15 months off the tour? Sheesh!!!
Get real.

Yes, I watched the match from first point to last point!! The game is there, the reps aren't!! Did you think she was going to win the tourney??
Oh by the way, didn't her opponent play a pretty damn good match??

Players have come back from layoffs, serious medical conditions, etc., and gone far in majors, (e.g., Connors had wrist surgery in '90, and made the USO semis in '91 at age 39), so its not impossible for players to do well at a major after injury or an absence.

I'd rather any celebrity or sports star NOT put their young children in any spotlight. Let them enjoy a normal life with privacy until they're a teenager.

Follow along, so Jimmy had the surgery in 90 and made the semis at the Open in 91, the Open in 91 wasn’t his first tournament back!! By your logic that would give Bianca until the 2022 AO to show that she can still play tennis !!

And could you do some research and find out if Connors went cold turkey right into the U.S. Open without playing any warm-up events after his surgery?

Guys, don't take Blundervolley so seriously. BS comments like the ones he's made here are the norm for him.

You're being a hyper-defensive fanboy ignorant of history. Everyone who followed Connors' career at the time understood Connors' wrist problem and surgery threatened to end his career. That's how serious it was (including an uncertain recovery), even a year later, yet he made the USO semis. If a then 38/39 year old coming out of wrist surgery could do that, the excuses for Andreescu (unless it was reported that her knee injury was threatening to end her career) do not necessarily hold up.

Yeah but she more like instead of being more like Nadal and by that I means that she gains weight and probably doesn't train enough.
I saw her 13 sec training on Instagram the week prior and I was aprehensive, she wasn't bouncy at all, not even during that short clip of FH to FH rally.
