Just rewatched the Rome final where he defeated Djokovic, and I have to say Murray played outstanding.
Now ive been watching every tennis event possible recently , and IMO that version of Murray is better than anything currently playing. I have no doubt he would be winning the current clay events especially, as Nadals level is exaggerated with the current players he faces.

Untestable assumption, and so irrelevant for a serious tennis debate.

I'm not saying 2016 Murray would not beat 2018 Nadal. The point is that we cannot know. You cannot prove such an assumption to be FALSE (and it doesn't mean it is true).

Do unicorns exist in a parallel universe? No one can disprove that unicorn might exist in another universe, but it doesn't mean their existence is true.

Andy always think he should have won the point no matter what his opponent did. It's one of his most endearing traits!

mury 2016 was awesome.

How he managed to steal the #1 spot from Djokovic is a feat in its own right.

It’s good that he managed to get the #1, it would have been almost unfair if he never managed to get it despite all that he’s achieved.
