Andy Murray and coach Amelie Mauresmo have 'mutually agreed' to end their partnership.

The duo have worked together for two years and world No 3 Murray says Mauresmo's input has been hugely beneficial.

"I've learned a lot from Amelie over the past two years," said Murray. "She's been a calming influence in the team and we'll miss having her around.

"I'd like to thank her for everything she has done, she has been an invaluable member of the team.

"I will take some time to consider the next steps and how we progress from here."

FINALLY!!!

Oven Landell is apparently on the cards to be Muzza's next coach.

Turning things around would mean dropping in the rankings and not winning titles for him, wouldn't it?,
He doesn't want to turn but go straight.
Turn up a gear maybe.

Yeah I dont think he would want to totally turn things around since for all the criticsm he takes things have gone pretty well for him since last year. What he would to do is definitely that last sentence, turn things up a gear.

Not fair to blame her for Andy's slam failures. The truth in my opinion is that he is actually an overachiever in a weak field, and the weakest #2 we have seen in a long time.

Lol...'a weak field' in the era of the 3 probable ATGs! Don't you just love that concept?

Well, no we don't actually

Connors, maybe?

I'm looking for either former tennis greats who have unsullied coaching records (so that excludes Connor and Navratilova) or coaches with a proven track record in getting players to Slam winning level or back there again. That's what I hope for, anyway. Not going to be easy but I just have to keep my fingers crossed he makes a good or at least sensible choice next time.

The coaching situation almost always seems to be the biggest issue for Murray, superseding his actual match results. There's always drama surrounding the coach.

He's had a grand total of 7 coaches since he first turned pro in 2005. Their average lifespan is about 2 years. By contrast, Nadal has had just 1, Federer 4 or 5, Djokovic 6 (and usually just adds them to his team rather than get rid of any). He usually parts with them if he is not making the kind of progress he is hoping for. I think Lendl was the only one he didn't wish to part with but that was mostly Lendl's decision.

You're right, Fedal are at full strength and have been for the last 2+ years. Good call.

Don't you get tired of pretending that just because their names are the same they are anywhere near the level of players they were back in the day? All to prop up the painfully boring and pathetic Murray?

Don't you get tired of pretending that Murray is somehow more 'painfully boring and pathetic' than any other player on tour not named Djokovic?

I am sure she will not miss his verbal abuse.
ummm... more info about that ?

here they say:
Many who watch the workings of Team Murray closely insist that few of his coaches over the years have been comfortable with the amount of verbal abuse the Scot sends in their direction when things are not going well. The only one who made it clear he would not tolerate such instances was Ivan Lendl, under whose guidance the Scot won his two Grand Slam event titles.
