As Federer said at the end of 2011 (one of his mind games), it's easier to become No1 than to protect your spot as best in the world. Novak was inexperienced as being best of them all, Roger and Rafa were still good, and Novak didn't know what to concentrate on.Nole was burned out for a couple seasons after near perfect season in 2011! He barely held onto #1, releasing it for a while to Nadal in 2013, but has had huge lead to stay in front of all comers for the foreseeable future! Even if Murray took USO, he'd need a near collapse for Nole to drop close to anyone in the point's race!![]()

Lets see if he can beat Novak first to win something.

Peak Fedr in 2017."Best tennis" lies ahead of Muray - and will be played by someone else![]()
Not sure about "Best Tennis" but there is hard landing ahead. Murray has no touch with reality whatsoever as always.
We all feel like that heading into our 30's. Then a funny thing happens...
And likely to continue as Murray says "best tennis is ahead of me" and:Ahhhh, the gloating begins!![]()

"Put your finger down Poindexter! It was tacky when Federer did it and it's even more tacky with you!"![]()

He will still be the same weaponless pusher.
After 2 years of continuous gloating by Djokovic fans, the gloating by Murray fans is a breath of fresh air.
I'm very happy for Andy Murray and for British Tennis.
Great to see Murray staying motivated as the success floods in. He is not getting complacent. It will be interesting to see how far he can take this..............
AO 2017 has the potential to be one of the best in years - Murray at his absolute best, a rejuvenated Federer, Nadal back in the conversation, Del Potro, Nishikori, Cilic and also Wawrinka hopefully playing well.
My eyes must be playing tricks on me or you just totally nixed Djokovic out of the conversation! Did he retire and I just didn't hear about it?![]()

I think I'd prefer Djokovic to go out early rather than lose an AO final to Murray.Yes, he did it.
His next missions is beating him at AO if it comes to that. Pretty long time ago Andy managed to beat Novak in a GS encounter.
I doubt it. Losing early would really ring the alarm bell for Novak. Losing early at your favorite slam never bodes well for anybody.I think I'd prefer Djokovic to go out early rather than lose an AO final to Murray.![]()
It's Djokovic who has something to prove right now, not Murray.Yes, he did it.

5. USO 2014, AO 2015, FO 2015, AO 2016, FO 2016.I meant Murray has to prove he can beat djokovic at a slam again. I can't remember how many slam encounters they have had since wimbledon 2013 but they are atleast a handfull.
Yep. Murray has been in pretty much every final since the start of the clay season, where as Novak failed more often than not, especially post-RG.
Murray is the man right now. He is the top dog. The rest are chasing him.
Well at least we get to be the hipsters then. The Murray fanbase isn't filled with Morons like the Fedalovic camp, at least not yet. Maybe when Murray starts being dominant...more annoyances will appear.
It could still last even without beating Novak. Novak has a lot of point to defend early on: Doha, AO, IW, Miami. Murray can mostly add points before the clay season: Doha, IW, Miami. If he defends his AO final and gains some points at these 3 events, he can remain no.1 at least until the clay season.Yes, he is the man right now. But his reign at #1 won't last as long if he keeps on losing GS matches to Djokovic. Otherwise the one thing that could save him is that Djokovic goes out early. That's why I'm saying it's his next mission. If he can beat him, then we can seriously start believing that Andy's #1 place will last a while.

I like his attitude. Now, lets see what actually happens.
Novak still has time to get another WTF and YE#1 Steve. You should know by now not to write off a great champion - they can surprise you when you least expect it.Did you like what actually happened? Because I did.![]()

I am thinking though ,,, that the Back injury that Andy maybe wasn't that serious to begin with............. because all the Back surgeries I have seen in the past,,,,,,,,ONLY 50 % of it comes out successful...... and even that 50 % of success stories, you don't really get 100 % of your back recovered.... and this Andy back surgery seem to have make Andy like 120 % better than before.................... This is really amazing to me........and Weird at the same time...OP you're suppose to put some sort of made up implication in your title for these threads like "Andy Murray's veiled threat to his rivals"" or "Andy Murray pushes over small child"
If the best is ahead of him, he would be number one at the end of 2017.
I say he wont. The best is behind him.
What kind of back surgery did Andy really have and was it really that serious to begin with ??????????
