Andy Murray is declining?

Yeah, Grigor played out of his mind for most of the first set and Andy looked obviously off a bit but still managed to get the job done. This is a good sign for Andy's preparation going into the Australian Open. It's a special player that can find a way to win, when things aren't optimal.

Hey Batz... Andy got a little choked up during the trophy presentation and dedicated the win to a friend back home (think he said it's one of his best friends who is very sick). Anyway, hopefully the situation turns for the better.

Grigor played some great stuff - he can be proud.

I saw that mate. Thought he was going to cry again. I'm speculating, but I've got a bad feeling it might be a British tennis player. Maybe I'm adding 2 and 2 and coming up with 6.

The Murray era continues. Anyone who took the final couple of months of 2012 seriously, just doesn't know tennis.

I'm wondering how things are going to turn out for Nadal this season before discussing any other favorites for the French Open. (If) Nadal isn't in full form by then, my attention will be on Andy and a few others as very real possiblilities for the French Title. Andy has already proven he can play on this surface as well.

Nadal was in horrible form in 2011 clay season and still only dropped 3 sets at Roland Garros. And in 2012 Nadal played with a numbed knee and still beat Djokovic in the Roland Garros final. Now Nadal is fully rested and his knee no longer requires numbing. The only real question is "will Nadal drop a set?"

Yeah, Djokovic and Ferrer are ahead of him on clay too, maybe even Federer, depending on his form at the time.

Well, Andy just beat Dimitrov in Brisbane International final in a very impressive way straights sets 7-6, 6-4.
I can't believe, Dimitrov having lead in the first set 5-2! and blew it.

Well done Murray! Excellent decline to another ATP title. Now really fade away to become Australian Open champion.

Honestly, some people really do have a problem with Murray's new found success.

I'm not a Murray fan but no way he declining yet. I can see him getting injured more often as his body is a lot of muscle on a brittle frame but he will be in contention for the slams I think.

Haha, how do you know his frame is brittle - does he go around breaking his bones all the time?

I admit since the USO he's not really maintained the scintillating form which saw Wimbledon final, OG, and USO - but that was a staggering run and even Djokovic wasn't able to maintain 4 slams in a row.

Murray is human. They all are.

He wants his second slam and I'd imagine he's taken the BI more seriously as preparation for Melbourne. And won pretty well in the end.

He's a good bet for the AO and we'll see if he can carry his 2012 into it.
