  1. Got himself in a scheduling / long match nightmare and still nearly got to the 2nd week at the AO. Will not be so unlucky with his R1 draw again
  2. Shown he can beat Berrettini over 5 sets now
  3. Handled Kyrgios nicely last year on grass before Kyrgios went on to reach the Wimbledon final
  4. His main 2 nemeses on grass - Fedal - are either retired or held together by string and hope
  5. Unbeaten against prime Djokovic on grass - never even lost a set against him. Will handle washed, can’t-rally-ovic easily in front of a home crowd

Even if some miracle helped him to avoid Djokovic in upper half of the draw, while still managing to beat, whom he realistically should not be able to considering the circumstances he would still fail to beat Djokovic in the final even if Novak played with not just one leg, but both of his hands tied...he is THAT much of a higher level than Murray...the thing is - i don't even see him reaching quarter-finals, let alone finals, even if Djokovic wins Roland Garros this year by tiring himself up playing several 5-setters and being exhausted by the time Wimbledon takes place...

It would be nice if Nole beat Murray at Wimbledon. :) Wimbledon is the only grandslam where Novak has not beaten Andy yet. Nole has beaten Fedal everywhere, but is missing a win over Murray at Wimbledon.

It was a different tournament but held in the same venue, in Wimbledon
Titles in tennis are counted by tournaments, not by venues. For example, Nole won the 2020 Cincinnati Masters at Flushing Meadows, but no one claims that Nole has 4 titles from Flushing Meadows.

Trouble is Andy can't get into the habit of shortening his opening matches. Has to get bogged down in gruelling 5 setters. Amazing and admirable to see him come through them but we all know it won't do him any good for trying to get to the later stages especially in Bo5 events.

The problem with Murray’s game in recent years, is that he stands too far back in the court and absolutely exhausts himself winning points by all his defensive running. To Win a slam you need to have some energy in the tank in the second week. By then, if he reaches that far, Murray has had too many 5 or 4 set wins. I think that a greater percentage of his play needs to be further up in the court and up the aggressive play. He is a wonderful player but somehow he has fallen into this ultra defensive mode way back in the court

Your evidence is at the level of flat earth evidence

It's above that.
There is zero evidence of a flat earth

But plenty of evidence for everything else, when you see around the curve

If Murray shows up in the draw, that is a heavier level of statistical evidence for a trophy than that posed for a flat earth

Should a Knight like him be given direct entry to the Final?

I think it's a bad idea, especially if he loses in straight sets.

At Wimbledon, shortening the points will be easier than anywhere else. Especially in the first week when the grass is still green and slippery and fast.
